Funeral services were held Thursday night in the chapel of the First National Funeral home with the Rev. O. L. Tucker officiating. The body was taken at 5 o'clock Friday morning to Magnolia, Miss., for interment. Miss Adair had been a resident of Winnsboro since 1928, making her home with her nephew and niece, Mr. and Mrs. George Elam. She is survived by two sisters: Mrs. Ida Thomas and Mrs. R. L. Necessity Resident Succumbs Dalton Crum, 59, died at his home near here Wednesday after a long illness. Funeral arrangements, being handled by the First National Funeral home of Winnsboro, had not been completed late Wednesday, but it is probable that services will be held at 2:30 o'clock Thursday at the Oak Grove cemetery. Mr. Crum is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ida Crum; a daughter, Mrs. Rodie Ziegler of Fort Necessity; ten sons, Edgar, J. A. Douglas Dies In Monroe Hospital Funeral services for William Anderson Douglas, 67, who died Friday in a Monroe sanitarium after a short illness, were held Sunday morning at 11 o'clock at the First Baptist church of Crowville, with the Rev. C. S. Wroten officiating. Interment was made in the Crowville cemetery under the direction of the First National Funeral home of Winnsboro. Mr. Douglas is survived by his wife; five daughters, Mrs. Irene Sowell of Winnsboro, Mrs. Monnie Parker, Mrs. Estelle Dunham and Mrs. Vera Dunham, all of Crowville, and Mrs. Eva Mae Parker of New York; and one son, Homer Douglas of Ferriday. -------------------------------------------------------- The Franklin Sun Winnsboro, LA August 5, 1943 Submitted by: Glenda Warner Boyd R. W. Hardison Dies in Monroe Funeral services were conducted in Monroe Thursday, August 5, for Robert William Hardison, 72, the Rev. I. J. Brooks, officiating, and interment was made in the Mann cemetery near Rayville. He is survived by one son, James Hardison, Monroe; and four daughters; Mrs. J. D. Stanley, Winnsboro; Mrs. G. W. Beach, Mrs. David Smith, and Mrs. Zada Shaw of Monroe; 21 grandchildren including four grandsons in military service, two of them outside the continental United States. -------------------------------------------------------- The Franklin Sun Winnsboro, LA August 19, 1943 Submitted May 2009 by: Glenda Warner Boyd John Thomas Mahoney Mahoney Rites Held Saturday In Wisner Last rites for John Thomas Mahoney, 77, who died Friday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. B. ? Parker, near Wisner, were held Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at Oakley cemetery, the Rev. John R. Campbell officiating with the assistance of the Rev. R. L. McLemore. First National Funeral home of Winnsboro was in charge of arrangements. Mr. Mahoney is survived by four daughters, Mrs. James Kinney and Mrs. Parker of Wisner and Mrs. K. E. Cains of Eudora, Ark., and Mrs. S. R. Hodges of Hattiesburg, Miss.; three sons, W. J. Mahoney, Jr., both of Wisner, and L. V. Mahoney of St. Joseph, and two brothers, J. L. Mahoney of Winnsboro and B. W. Mahoney of Wisner. B. McLaughlin of Gilbert have been notified that their son, Pfc. James B. McLaughlin, was killed in action somewhere in the Southwest Pacific, July 20. Pfc. McLaughlin was born February 12, 1913 near Liberty in Amite county, Mississippi. He attended the Gilbert High School and was inducted into the army May 18, 1942. After receiving his basic training at Camp Shelby, Miss., he sailed for the southwest Pacific. John R. Campbell and the Rev. Mr. McLemore officiating. Mr Scott died at the home of his nephew, J. J. Kenney, near Wisner Friday August 6. Interment was made under the direction of the First National Funeral home of Winnsboro. Mr. Scott's sole survivor is his nephew, J. J. Funeral services were held Sunday at 3 p.m., in the Coax Baptist church with the Rev. C. W. Jones of Mangham officiating. Interment was made in the Coax cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral home. H. Vines of Franklin Parish, died Wednesday, July 27 in a Monroe hospital. Interment was made in the Coax cemetery. The infant is survived by her parents, three brothers: Douglas, W.
