The funeral was held at the residence Thursday at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Tom Ratcliff and the Rev. C. B. Hall officiating. Interment, directed by the Mulhearn Funeral home, was made in the old Winnsboro cemetery. Pallbearers were Allen Price, Bill Whitten, Nolan Moore, Taylor Martin, P. C. Montogmery, and Jack Francis. Mrs. Comeaux leaves five sons: T. P. Comeaux, Cullen; H. L., Harley, Charlie and W. J. Comeaux, all of Winnsboro; five daughters, Mrs. J. C. Nielsen, Winnsboro; Mrs. D. A. Holloway, Urania; Mrs. C. L. Miller, Baton Rouge; Mrs. W. B. Keene, Suntag, Miss., and Mrs. Jimmie Hearold, Baskin; and three half-brothers, Charles Carroll, Benson Carroll and Frank Carroll, all of Winnsboro. -------------------------------------------------------- The Franklin Sun Winnsboro, LA December 9, 1943 Submitted July 2009 by: Glenda Warner Boyd Elsie Dill Last Rites Are Held For Miss Elsie Dill Funeral services were conducted at the Gilbert Methodist church Sunday afternoon for Miss Elsie Dill, 46, who died Saturday in Alexandria. Interment was made in the Oakley cemetery under the direction of First National Funeral home of Winnsboro. Pallbearers were Dick Ward, Chevis Sherrouse, S. C. Corbin, Frank McNair, O. B. Richardson, Samuel Calhoun, Richard McLemore and Elzie Turner. Miss Dill is survived by one sister, Mrs. Charles Avent, of Delhi; one half-brother, Benjamin Bond, Gilbert; a step-mother, Mrs. J. A. Dill of Gilbert; an uncle, Robert Camp, Memphis; and four aunts, Mrs. George Jones and Mrs. W. H. B. Kiper Funeral Is Held in Gilbert Funeral services for Theodore Bowers Kiper, 58, former resident of Gilbert, who died in Ft. Worth, Tex., were held at the Gilbert Methodist church today at 2:30 p.m. The Rev. R. E. Hendricks of Ft. Worth and the Rev. Collins and Rev. J. R. Campbell, both of Gilbert, officiated. Burial, under the direction of the Mulhearn Funeral home of Winnsboro, was in Oakley cemetery. Mr. Kiper was born at Sicily Island and lived most of his life at Gilbert. He and his family had been living in Ft. Worth for the past several years. Survivors include his wife and three children, Theodore, Jr., Peggy and Sally Lois, all of Ft. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at Oak Grove Baptist church with Rev. Tillman Hemphill officiating. Interment followed in the cemetery at Oak Grove Baptist church under the direction of First National Funeral home of Winnsboro. Lowery Lowery Rites Are Conducted Near Here Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon for Mrs. Millie G. Lowery, 67, who died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W. L. Pippins, Sunday, following a long illness. Religious rites were held at the Oak Grove church with interment by First National Funeral home in the churchyard. Mrs. Lowery is survived by three daughters: Mrs. Virlee Pippins and Mrs. Richard Darmon, Winnsboro, and Mrs. Susie Copeland, West Monroe; one son, Pvt. K. Mercer, died at the family residence near Winnsboro Wednesday, December 22, following an extended illness. Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Tom Ratcliff at the Oak Grove church with interment by Mulhearn Funeral home in the church cemetery Friday, December 24, at 2:30 p.m. Mrs. Mercer was 55 years of age. She is survived her husband and two sons, J. Ratcliff Dies Near Mangham Funeral services for Charles B. Ratcliff, 69, who died in his sleep Tuesday morning at his home near Mangham, will be held Friday at 2:30 p.m., at Lone Star Baptist church. The Rev. John Kitchenham of Columbia will officiate. Burial, under the direction of the First National Funeral home of Winnsboro, will be in the church cemetery. Mr. Ratcliff was a leading member of the Lone Star church. He is survived by his wife; four sons, Chief Petty Officer Charles N. Ratcliff, Sergeant Albert B. Ratcliff, stationed at Fort Meade, Md., Yoeman Second Class Victor L. Ratcliff, with the navy in the Pacific, and E. O. Trammel Mother of Winnsboro Resident Succumbs Mrs. W. A. Trammel, 74, mother of H. S. Trammel of Winnsboro died at the family residence ? Dubach Saturday, following ? illness of four years. Religious rites and interment were held ? Spearsville, Sunday. Mrs. Trammel, pioneer resident and member of one of the ? prominent families in that ? is survived by her husband, ? daughters, four sons and ? grandchidlren.
