Joe Evans Funeral Conducted Sunday
 
Funeral services for Joe Evans, 70, of near Baskin, who died Saturday at 
the home of his daughter in Natchez, Miss., were held Sunday at 3 o'clock at 
the Coax church, with the Rev. Polk officiating. Interment followed in the adjoining 
cemetery, under direction of First National Funeral home.
 
Pallbearers included Edward Jones, Alfred Jones, Leonard Jones, E. G. Lawrence, 
Tracy Lawrence and Arnold Lawrence. 
 
He is survived by his wife, Phoebe Evans, four sons, Lee Evans, Baskin; Fred Evans, 
Sikes; Nick Evans, Natchez, Miss.; and Jess Evans, Natchez, Miss.; three daughters, 
Mrs. Mary Rodgers, Baskin, and Mrs. Clara Wiggins and Mrs. Lucy Boyette of Natchez, Miss., 
and one sister, Mrs. Mary Eubanks, Baskin.
