Mrs. H. L. Liles Dies in Monroe


Mrs. Belle P. Liles, 45, wife of Hugh L. Liles of Winnsboro, died in a Monroe hospital 
Wednesday afternoon following a long illness. Funeral services were conducted at the 
Boeuf River 
Baptist church Thursday, 3:30 p.m., with the Rev. T. C. Polk officiating. He was assisted 
by the Rev. Jesse Hawthorne. Interment was made in the Ogden cemetery under the direction 
of the First National Funeral home.
Mrs. Liles is survived by her husband; one son (sic) step-son, Sherman Liles, Bastrop; a 
step-daughter, Mrs. Lucille Liles, Winnsboro; her mother, Ruth Porter, Winnsboro, and one 
brother, Richard Porter, of Ferriday.
