A.C. Trapp, Chase, in charge. Mrs. Crooks died at her home near Winnsboro February 4 after a long illness. Burial was in Chase cemetery under the direction of Frist National Funeral home. Survivors include her husband, G. A. Brooks; four daughters, Mrs. V. A. Brady, Mrs. C. F. Hemphill and Mrs. A. C. Liles, all of Winnsboro, and Mrs. W. H. Jones Dies Funeral services for Ruben N. Jones, 55-year-old resident of Fort Necessity, were held at the White Swan church there Wednesday morning. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Cora Jones; a son, R. N. Jones, Jr., two daughters, Erma Jeanne Jones and Lessie Jones, all of Fort Necessity; three brothers, Bowden and Lim Jones of Winnsboro, and T. A. Jones of Monroe; and two sisters, Miss Betty Jones and Mrs. Fannie Austin of Winnsboro. - -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Franklin Sun Winnsboro, LA February 5, 1948 Submitted September 2006 by: Glenda Warner Boyd Alphonse Lavigne Dies Final rites were held for Alphonse Lavigne, 85, who died at the home of Dutch Wellbrink January 29, by the Rev. Father Richard J. Swift in the First National funeral home chapel on January 30. Mr. Lavigne is survived by one sister, Miss Julliette La Lanne of Pau, France. Burial was in the new cemetery. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Franklin Sun Winnsboro, LA February 5, 1948 Submitted September 2006 by: Glenda Warner Boyd Last Rites Held For Mrs. Wahl (sic Wahls) Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon for Mrs. Maude Virginia Humble Wahls, 64, who died at her home in Mangham Monday. Formerly of Winnsboro, Mrs. Wahls was a life-long resident of this area. The final rites were held in the Mulhearn funeral home chapel here with the Rev. C. Hall officiating. She is survived by her husband, Otto Wahls; one sister, Mrs. Henrietoa King, and two brothers, George Humble and Sam Humble, Sr., all of Mangham.
