Graham Graham Services Held Here Friday Funeral services were conducted Friday, February 26, at 2 p.m. for John L. Graham, resident of Gilbert since 1930. Mr. Graham died Thursday following a short illness. The Rev. T. G. Polk officiated at the services which took place in the chapel of the First National Funeral home. Interment followed at the Oakley cemetery near Gilbert. Mr. Graham is survived by: his wife, Mrs. Mattie Graham of Gilbert; one daughter, Mrs. Joe House of Monroe; one step-daughter, Mrs. Ollie Lowery of Bragg City, Mo.; two granddaughters and one great-grandson; one niece, Miss Lillian Sewell, St. Louis, Mo.; and one nephew, Claude Sewell of Gilbert. James Prather, G. B. Prather, T. L. Smith, Leslie McDaniel, Bluford Emfinger and Charlie Andrews served as pallbearers. ------------------------------------------------ The Franklin Sun Winnsboro, LA March 4, 1954 Submitted August 2009 by: Glenda Warner Boyd Ed Minor Service Station Attendant Is Killed In Freak Accident Ed Minor, age 45, a negro service station attendant for the City Park Service station in Wisner died early this morning from injuries sustained at the station about 5:00 p.m. yesterday afternoon. Minor was repairing a large tractor tire when a rim blew off the wheel, fracturing his skull. He was rushed to the Rosalee sanitarium. He had been employed by the City Park Service station for the past four years and is a native of Wisner. He leaves his wife and several small children. ---------------------------------------------------- The Franklin Sun Winnsboro, LA March 11, 1954 Submitted August 2009 by: Glenda Warner Boyd Services Held for Joseph Vetsch Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon for Joseph Vetsch, 93, of Winnsboro, who died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. C. T. Vining of Oak Grove The services took place in the Boeuf Prairie Methodist church with the Rev. J. W. Boyd and the Rev. T. L. Tatum officiating. Interment followed in the White Swan cemetery. Surviving Mr. Vetsch is: one daughter, Mrs. Vining; three sons, W. C. Vetsch of New Orleans, A. C. Vetsch of Columbus, Miss., and G. M. Vetsch of Shreveport. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Brown-Young Funeral home. ---------------------------------------------------------- The Franklin Sun Winnsboro, LA March 4, 1954 Submitted August 2009 by: Glenda Warner Boyd Mrs. Zeagler, 60 Is Laid to Rest Mrs. Minnie Zeagler, 60, of Fort Necessity was laid to rest with funeral services held Thursday at the Fort Necessity Baptist church. Officiating was the Rev. M. J. Martin, pastor of the Fort Necessity church, assisted by the Rev. C. B. Hall of the First Baptist church of Winnsboro. Mrs. Zeagler, who died after a length (sic lengthy) illness was intered (sic interred) in the Catahoula cemetery near Enterprise. She is survived by her husband, Fred P. Zeagler of Fort Necessity; three sons, Fred P., Jr., Roy V. of California, and Harold H. of Vidalia; two daughters, Mrs. Joseph Spatala of Georgia and Mrs. Edward Bringal of Vidalia; two brothers, Ernest Smith and Jim Smith of Harrisonburg; and eight grandchildren. Pallbearers were Tom Gilmore, Allen Gilmore, Arthur Posey, Thelma Burlew, Frank Barfield, and Johnnie Austin. --------------------------------------------------------
