C. B. Hall, The Rev. Sardis Beaver and the Rev. T. J. Ratcliff officiating. Mrs. Killian was co-owner and manager of the Magee Department store here. She was well and favorably known throughout the parish. Survivors include her husband, Raymond Killian; one daughter, Jan; four brothers, T. K. Magee of Rayville, L. L. Magee, C. M. Magee and W. M. Magee,all of Winnsboro; three sisters, Mrs. W. F. Watson, Wisner, Mrs. C. C. Hopkins, of Winnsboro and Mrs. Sam Oliver of Wisner. Active pallbearers were Kirby Tillotson, Pershing Robinson, L. B. Lofton, G. D. Gardener, W. D. Lofton, B. A. Byargeon, V. P. Ferrington and J. C. Bankston. Honorary pallbearers were P. D. Pardue, Bailey Smith, J. W. McLemore, Sr., Carl Shipp, James O. Smith, Bob Mulhearn, Thomas Hampton, Alvin Erskin, Lantz Womack, Ramage Adams, W. F. Prickett, M. L. Brown, S. R. Walters, Bill Pennebaker and all friends of the family. The burial took place in the Myrtle Memorial cemetery under the direction of the Mulhearn Funeral home. ----------------------------------------------------- The Franklin Sun Winnsboro, LA May 27, 1954 Submitted February 2009 by: Glenda Warner Boyd Mrs. Ruthie Sikes Is Laid to Rest Mrs. Ruthie Sikes, age 73, was laid to rest in the Oak Grove cemetery Tuesday following services in the Oak Grove Baptist church. The Rev. T. G. Polk officiated. Mrs. Sikes, who passed away Monday morning, leaves three daughters, Mrs. R. L. Dave and Mrs. Joe McKenzie of Crossett and Mrs. J. E. McKenzie of Magnolia; three sons, Monroe and Hansford Sikes of Winnsboro and Sgt. J. P. Sikes of Camp Chaffee, Ark.; five sisters, Mrs. Blank Hitt, Mrs. Cicero Hitt and Mrs. Emma Sikes of Winnsboro, Mrs. Cora Parker of Houston, Tex. and Mrs. Mertis Ross of Orange, Tex.; one brother George Taylor of Winnsboro; and 29 grandchildren. Serving as pallbearers were Fred Hitt, Raymond Hitt, Marvin Hitt, Earl Ross, Ray Taylor and J. D. Sikes. --------------------------------------------------
