Stevens Kathryn Olive Beach Funeral services for Kathryn Olive Beach, infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Beach, were held in the Holly Grove church at 10 a.m. Friday, with the Rev. Charlie Arnold officiating. Kathryn is survived by her parents; six brothers, Frank, John, Jessie, Henry, Phil, and Carlos Ray; and grandparents, Mrs. Olive Beach, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Mayberry, Bastrop. Stevens Charlene Johnson Funeral services for Charlene Johnson, two-week old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.C. Johnson of Crowville, were held in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. The infant died Monday in a Monroe hospital. The Rev. Charlie Arnold, of Wisner, officiated. Interment followed in the Crowville Masonic cemetery. Charlene is survived by her parents; one sister, Cynthia, grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J.C. Stevens Newell Edward McElwee Newell Edward McElwee, Sr., 80, died at his home in Franklin parish near Delhi on Saturday night. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday at the residence of Dr. N.E. McElwee, Jr., Delhi, with the Rev. Ralph Frazier, the Rev. Pete Welch and the Rev. Steinbaugh officiating. Mr. McElwee is survived by his wife; three sons, Dr. N.E. McElwee, Jr., Delhi, Dr. J.A. McElwee, Winnfield and Dr. T.W. McElwee, Baton Rouge; one sister, Mrs. Minnie Shaw, Arcadia; two borthers, Tandy McElwee and Jenner McElwee, both of Homer. Hammonds, Crowville, Mrs. H.A. Reed, Eldorado, Ark., and Mrs. J.M. Gaines, Olla; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Wheelus Funeral services were held for Luther J. Wheelus, 59, in the Temple Baptist church at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, May 10. The Rev. H. K. Stringer officiated, assisted by the Rev. Claud Hughes. Mr. Wheelus, well known Winnsboro resident, died May 9 at his home on Steele street. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Winnie R. Wheelus, Winnsboro, two daughters, Mrs. Pansy Sanders, Fairbanks and Mrs. Ethel Ladd, Ipava, Ill; one brother, Henry Wheelus, Winnsboro, his mother, Mrs. J. J. Wheelus, Winnsboro; and several nieces and nephews.
