Stevens September 2009 Robert Martin Chisholm Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 12, at the First Baptist church of Crowville for Robert Martin Chisholm, 83, resident of Crowville for approximately 39 years. Mr. Chisholm died at a local rest home on February 10 at 7:50 p.m. Officiating at funeral services was the Rev. C.T. Smith, assisted by the Rev. Ralph Frazier. Interment followed in the Crowville Masonic cemetery near Crowville under the direction of First National Funeral home. Mr. Chisholm, a member of the First Baptist church of Crowville, leaves his wife, Mrs. Addie Scroggs Chisholm of Crowville; four sons, W. R. Chisholm of Crowville, A. F. and J. C. Chisholm of Jackson and R. A. Chisholm of Vinita, Okla.; two daughters, Mrs. Clemmie Higdon of Delhi and Mrs. Lettie Weems of Winnsboro; 22 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. G. P. Tippins of Beaumont, Tex. Stevens Mrs. Annie Cowart Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Baskin Baptist church, with the Rev. Bobby Brown, pastor of the Lone Cedar Baptist church officiating, for Mrs. Annie B. Cowart, 67, originally of Winnsboro. The Rev. Brown was assisted by the Rev. T.G. Polk. Mrs. Cowart died Monday in a New Orleans hospital after a brief illness. Interment was in the Hatch Cemetery near Alto, under the direction of Young Funeral home. Surviving Mrs. Cowart are two sons, Joe and T.B. “Buck” Cowart, both of Winnsboro; two daughters, Mrs. Elmer Cameron, Harvey, and Mrs. Mary Bonner, Sterlington; two step-daughters, Mrs. Nellie Hensley, Eudora, Ark., and Mrs. Susie Russell, Oak Grove; two step-sons, Mack Cowart of West Monroe and Jim Cowart, all of Jena; two sisters, Miss Lillian Cabe and Mrs. Kate Greer, both of Rayville; a brother E.M. Davis, aged 84 years, died at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Irvin Sikes of near Crowville, on February 3. A short service was conducted in the chapel of the First National Funeral home at 2 p.m. February 4 by the Rev. C.B. Hall, pastor of the First Baptist church, Winnsboro, followed by funeral services at 2:30 p.m. at the Oak Grove Baptist church. The Rev. Larry Walker, pastor of the Crockett Point Baptist church and the Rev. Tom Ratcliff, pastor of Oak Grove Baptist church, officiated. Mr. Davis, who was married to the late Katie Reeme Scott on December 25, 1898, is survived by one son, George C. Stevens September 2009 Charles William Hair Charles William Hair, respected merchant, cattleman and farmer of Crowville for many years, died at the age of 66 in a Monroe hospital, February 11, following a heart attack. Services were conducted for Mr. Hair at 10 a.m. Monday at the Crowville Methodist church, with the Revs. S. B. Dampler, C. T. Smith and Don Alverson, officiating. Interment was in the Crowville Masonic cemetery, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral home of Winnsboro.
