Mrs. Barefield died at her home here. Young's Funeral home will have charge of funeral arrangements. Survivors and time of Mrs. Barefield's funeral were unavailable to The Sun at press time. ********************************* The Franklin Sun Winnsboro, LA March 28, 1957 Submitted September 2006 by: Glenda Warner Boyd Mrs. Marena Dubell Barefield Funeral services were held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Central Baptist church for Mrs. Marena Dubell Barefield, 57. The Rev. Tom Ratcliff, assisted by the Rev. Ira patterson and the Rev. Joe Broadway, officiated. Interment was in the Central cemetery. Mrs. Barefield, who died suddenly at her home in Winnsboro last Thursday, is survived by her husband, Frank Barefield of Winnsboro; three daughters, Mrs. Herman Ward, Mrs. Jeff Lowry and Mrs. Asa Knox, all of Winnsboro; a son, Jesse Barefield; 10 grandchildren; two brothers, Alex Dubelle, Wisner, and Tom Dubelle, Clayton; and a number of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Bill Pippins, M.H, Martin, Jesse Roberts, Lloyd Roberts, Otis Roberts and T. G. Roberts. ********************* The Franklin Sun Winnsboro, LA March 28, 1957 Submitted by: Glenda Warner Boyd Wiburn McCarty Funeral services were conducted for Wilburn McCarty, 82, at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Oak Grove Baptist church. Mr. McCarty, who leaves 119 descendants, died at his home Friday. Interment was in the White Swan cemetery at Fort Necessity. The Rev. Tom Ratcliff officiated at the final rites. Mr. McCarty is survived by four sons, Jessie and George McCarty, both of Winnsboro, Elmer McCarty of Dumas, Tex. and H. B. McCarty of Sulphur; six daughters, Mrs. Estelle Carter of Beaumont, Tex., Mrs. Lillie Jones, Mrs. R. O. Day and Mrs. Raymond Thomas, all of Winnsboro, Mrs. Alma Horne, Kerman, Calif., Mrs. Lucy Dickey, South Carolina; 42 grandchildren, 65 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. ******************************************************
