Mrs. Pernesie Wheelus
 
Final rites for Mrs. Pernesie Wheelus of Oak Grove community were 
conducted at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Oak Grove Baptist church, with 
the Rev. T. J. Ratcliff officiating. The Rev. Joe Mongle assisted.
Interment in Oak Grove cemetery followed.
A housewife, Mrs. Wheelus was born April 5, 1873 in Winn parish.
She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist church. Death came after 
a long illness at 8 a.m. Saturday at her home.
Survivors of Mrs. Wheelus are a son, Henry Wheelus, Winnsboro;
10 grandchildren; two brothers, Norvel McCarty, Winnsboro, and
Willis McCarty, Center, Tex.; eight great-grandchildren; several
nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Wesley Herrington, John Guimbellot, Julius 
Mercer, Jack Carpenter, Harold Robinson and Fred Hitt.
