ETICE EULA FAIRLY Mrs. Etice Eula Fairly died at the age of 61 years Saturday at her home on Eighth street in Winnsboro. Her final illness was lengthy. Mrs. Fairly, born November 30, 1899 in Winnsboro, is survived by: her husband, James L. Fairly, Winnsboro: two brothers, Rhodes and Edward R. Boyle, both of Winnsboro; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Wood, Rapid City, S.D., and Mrs. W.H. Eldridge, Falfurrias, Tex.; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mrs. Fairly were held at 3 p.m. Sunday in the First National Funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Paul Mixon, pastor of Alto Presbyterian church officiating. Interment was in new Winnsboro cemetery, Winnsboro. Pallbearers were Louie Boyle, Homer Lowry, Si Robinson, Jr., Herbert Jean Robinson, Carey Kincaid and Gail Stephens. ************************************ Submitted by: Glenda Warner Boyd April 2005 The Franklin Sun Winnsboro, LA August 3, 1961 Mrs. Frances Jane Rolen Funeral services for Mrs. Frances Jane Rolen of Winnsboro, who is survived by 173 descendents, were conducted at New Hope Methodist church near Sikes at 2:30 p.m. August 2. The Rev. Jimmy Hipp officiated, assisted by the Rev. T.O. Airton. Burial was in New Hope cemetery. Born September 5, 1866, in Winn parish, Mrs. Rolen was a member of Boeuf River Baptist church. She died August 1 in a Monroe hospital. She leaves: four daughters, Mrs. Lizzie Lee, Columbia, Mrs. Belle Buchan, Jonesboro, Mrs. Aretha Warner, Winnsboro, and Mrs. Bertha Bratton, Monroe; four sons, Henry S. Rolen, Winnsboro, Robert Rolen, Seagraves, Tex., John Rolen, Many, and George Rolen, Morrow; 47grandchildren, 97 great grandchildren and 21 great, great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Henry P. Rolen, Monroe Rolen, Bobby Jo Lee, H.L. B. TAYLOR Final rites for A. B. Taylor, a resident of Gold Hill, Ore. for eight years, were held at a Medford, Ore. funeral home chapel at 9:30 a.m. July 24. Officiating was the pastor of the First Christian church of Medford. Burial for Mr. Taylor, who had made his home in Pleasant Hale community for 15 years before moving to Oregon, was in Oddfellows cemetery at Gold Hill. Born at Mulrane, Kan. Mr. Taylor died at the age of 80 July 21 at Gold Hill after a brief illness. Mrs. Taylor preceded him in death on December 11, 1959. He is survived by a son, A. D. Taylor, Gold Hill; two daughters, Mrs. H. A. Densmore, Roseburg. Ore., and Mrs. Frank E. Pitts, Winnsboro; a brother, Lucian B. Taylor, Peoria, Ill; 12 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. A grandson, Pfc. Frank E. Pitt, Jr. of Winnsboro, flew from Selfridge Air Force base, Detroit, Mich. to be present at funeral services. ******************************************************
