Killen Mrs. Lula Mercer ************************ The Franklin Sun Winnsboro, LA January 4, 1962 Submitted September 2006 by: Glenda Warner Boyd Mrs. Nancy Anders Funeral services for Mrs. Nancy Anders of Winnsboro were conducted at 10 a.m. Monday at Boeuf River Baptist church. The Revs. T. J. Ratcliff, Meredith Hair and Joe Mongle officiated. Interment was in Ogden cemetery. Mrs. Anders, 69, died at 10:30 Saturday. She is survived by: her husband, W. F. Anders, Winnsboro; three sisters, Mrs. Frank Elkins and Mrs. Vina Ellerbe, both of Winnsboro, Mrs. A. G. Madden, Houston, Tex.; and a number of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Ira Parks, Charlie Ray Jennings, W. A. Killen Final rites for Crockette Jones Killen of Winnsboro were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First National Funeral home here. The Rev. Tom Ratcliff officiated. Mr. Killen, 72, died about midnight. He is survived by: a daughter, Mrs. Edna K. Porter, Winnsboro; a grandson, Nolan G. Porter; a great granddaughter, Theresa Rena Porter; a great grandson, Nolan G. Porter, Jr., all of Winnsboro; five sisters, Mrs. Lucy Cox and Mrs. Sally Peters, both of Winnfield, Mrs. Lula Moore and Mrs. Dempsie Mercer, both of Tullos, and Mrs. Bessie Wysinger, Minden; three brothers, Jim Killen of Winnfield, Henry Killen of Jonesville and Bill Killen of Urania. Born December 16, 1888, Mrs. Mercer was a member of Turkey Creek Baptist church. Funeral services were held at Central Baptist church, Wisner, Tuesday morning. The Rev. Otis Dumas, pastor of Central Baptist church, officiated. Burial was in Central cemetery, Wisner. Surviving Mrs. Mercer are: four daughters, Mrs. Lucille Gwin and Mrs. Betty Norwood, both of Gilbert, Mrs. Sara Purvis, Sondheimer, and Mrs. Clemmie Thacker, Houston, Tex.; two sep-daughters, Mrs. Hester Fisher and Mrs. Cammie Tucker, both of Tallulah; three sons, Edward and Sonny Mercer, both of West Monroe, and Harvey Mercer, Columbia; a brother, Robert Roberts, West Monroe; 20 grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren. **************************************
