Johnson Mrs. Mary Katherine (Kate) Johnson grandmother of parish associate home agent Miss Patsy Johnson, died Thursday in a Monroe hospital. Seventy-nine, Mrs. Johnson had been ill for about two months. Funeral services for Mrs. Johnson, who made her home in Winnsboro with her granddaughter, were held at 3 p.m. Friday in Harrisonburg Methodist church. The Revs. Alvin P. Smith, Finas Cory and Ray Walters officiated. Interment was in Harrisonburg cemetery. Mrs Johnson is survived by: six sons, Clarence, Hewitt and Walter Johnson, all of Monroe, Emmett Johnson, Catahoula parish agent, Harrisonburg, Robert and Clifford Johnson, both of New Iberia: a sister, Mrs. Pearl Burnsed, Winnsboro: Miss Johnson and 14 other grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Pallbearers were J. Z. Harmon and Charles Stutson, Dave Boothe, Lewis Boothe, Jack Trichel, Lynn McGuffee and Billy Ray Johnson. ************************************* The Franklin Sun March 15, 1962 Submitted by: Karen McNease June 2002 Glen Earl Madden Glen Earl Madden, 64 year old resident of Liddieville community, died Wednesday morning. Stricken at home he was pronounced dead on arrival at a local clinic. Funeral services for Mr. Madden, farmer and planter, were incomplete this morning. Mulhearn Funeral home is in charge of arrangements. The body is at the Madden home. Suriving Mr. Maden are; his wife, Mrs. Mary Nell Madden, Winnsboro; three daughters, Mrs. Earline Anders, Odessa, Tex., Mrs. Eleanor Emmert, Marearia, Calif, and Mrs. Maxine Smith, Chattanooga, Tenn.; a son George Madden, Winnsboro; two step-children, Mrs. Billie Jean Lobrano, Alto, and Charles Thomas, Houma; a brother, Clyde Madden, Baton Rouge; four sisters, Mrs. Ollie Woitt, Pascagoula, Miss., Mrs. W.E. Williams, Winnsboro, Mrs. Bill Clark, Fresno, Calif., and Mrs. Neva Bennett, Edinburg, Tex.; 13 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. ***************************** The Franklin Sun March 15, 1962 Submitted by: Karen McNease June 2002 Johnnie Ray Temple Funeral services for Johnnie Ray Temple, 45 year old resident of Magnolia community, were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Magnolia Baptist church. The Rev. Quitman Britt, assisted by the Rev. Lavelle Enterkin, officiated. Burial was in Harris cemetery near Crowville. Mr. Temple, a native of Winnsboro where he was born October 16, 1916, was a farmer. He died Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Huey Reeves. Survivors are; his wife, Mrs. Lena Brown Temple; a son, Billy Ray Temple, Monroe; a daughter, Mrs. Catherine Ann Hough, California; his step-mother, Mrs. Emma A. Temple, Winnsboro; and five grandchildren. Pallbearers were Odell Brent, Pete Etheridge, Johnnie Ballance, Frank Poulos, C. H. Wiltshire and Chuck Gordy. Russell Etheridge and John Lee Kincaid were honorary pallbearers. ********************
