Thompson ********************************** Eli Moore Fort Necessity, La. August 15, 1873 --------APRIL 12, 1963 Eli Moore , 89 years old lifetime resident of Fort Necessity , died in a Winnsboro hospital Thursday after an illness of several days. Mr. Moore , a member of the Boeuf Prairie Methodist Church , served as Justice of the Peace in Fort Necessity for 62 years. He was ais a member of the Masonic Lodge here. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Boeuf Prairie Methodist Church with burial to follow in the Boeuf Prairie Cemetery under direction of Mulhesrn Funeral Home of Winnsboro . Mr. Moore was Preceeded in death by his wife Mrs Fannie Elizabeth Jones Moore . Mr Moore is survived by three daughters, Miss Bertice Moore, Fort Necessity, Mrs. Ethel Godwin , Baton Rouge, and Mrs. Doris Williams, Huston . Texas. One son Steve Moore, Fort Necessity. 24 Grandchildren, 28 Great Grandchildren and 4 Step Great Grandchildren. The Franklin parish native was born August 15, 1873 at Fort Necessity, and was a member of Boeuf Prairie Methodist church and the Masonic lodge. Funeral services for Mr. Moore took place at 11 a.m. today at Boeuf Prairie Methodist church. The Revs. Lamont Rouse and T. McKission officiated. Interment was in Boeuf Prairie cemetery. Mr. Moore is survived by: three daughters, Miss Bertice Moore, Winnsboro, Mrs. Ethel Goodwin, Baton Rouge, and Mrs. Doris Williams, Houston, Tex.; a son, Steve Moore, Winnsboro; 24 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and four step great grandchildren. The Rev. Meredith Hair, assisted by the Rev. C. W. Jones, officiated. Burial was in Ogden cemetery. Born, April 10, 1881 at Jackson parish, Mr. Parks was a farmer. His church membership was with Boeuf River Baptist church. Survivors are two sons, Ira Parks, Winnsboro, and W. M. Parks, Monroe; a daughter, Mrs. John Cryer, Winnsboro; a sister, Mrs. J. M. Dinkins, Monroe; four grandchildren and a number of nephews and nieces. Pallbearers were Will, Marshall and Price Turnage, Dennis Killen, A. C. Thompson Funeral services for Mrs. Elsie Shipley Thompson, 42, of Vidor, Tex. were held at 2 p.m. Friday at United Pentecostal church. The Rev. J. A. Hawthorne officiated, assisted by the Rev. T. J. Mahoney. Burial was in Ogden Cemetery. Mrs. Thompson, a native of Winnsboro where she was born April 17, 1920, was a member of the Pentecostal church. She died at 10:30 a.m. April 3, at Doctors hospital, Grove, Tex. Surviving her are: her husband, Robert Thompson, Beaumont, Tex.; a son, Jessie Houston Burton, Vidor, Tex.; a daughter, Mrs. Charles Brandon, Houston, Tex.; her mother, Mrs. Oscar Shipley, Winnsboro; three sisters, Mrs. D. W. Pippins, Brookhaven, Miss.; Mrs. Gordon Hilburn, Winnsboro, and Mrs. Merle Howard, Monroe; two brothers, C. L. and J. R. Shipley, both of Winnsboro; and two grandsons. Pallbearers were Charlie Carroll, W. M. Keyes, Hilton Davis, Sal Coronado, J. R. Kiper, Jr., and Jimmie Korman. **********************
