Allen died Sunday at Carswell Air Force base hospital at Fort Worth, Tex. He was 44 years old. Funeral services for the serviceman were held at 10a.m. Thursday at Lone Pine Baptist church. The Rev. Howard and C.T. Smith and the England Air Force base chaplain conducted services. Interment was in Harris cemetery. Mr. Allen leaves ; his wife, Mrs. Nell Stewart Allen, San Antonio, Tex.; two children Nanette and Charles Vincent Allen; two brothers, M/Sgt. William Judson Allen, Homestead Air Force Base, Fla. and Charles D. Allen, Beaumont, Tex.; a sister Mrs. Grace Baston, Long Island, N.Y.; two half brothers, S-Sgt. Truett H. Allen, Little Rock Air Force base, Ark., and Wistor Allen, High Point, N.C.; three half -sisters, Mrs. Robert Biggert, West Jefferson, O., Miss Effie Lynn Allen, Blytheville, Ark., and Mrs. Mary Katherine Busby, Shreveport; and his step-mother, Mrs. Abbie Carter Allen of Louisville, Miss. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William I. Allen. W. Jones Jr. of Winnsboro died at his home in Mangham Saturday. A retired farmer and planter, Mr. Boughton was 75 years old, He was a member of Mangham Baptist Church, Mangham Masonic lodge and a charter member of the Franklin Parish Cattlemen's association. Survivors in addition to his daughter, are his wife, Mrs. L. O. Boughton, Mangham; a son B. N. Boughton, Mangham; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren; three brothers, J. G. Boughton of West Monroe, W. O. Boughton of Rayville and Homer Boughton of Mangham; two sisters Mrs. T. W. Stark and Mrs. Ira Bruce, both of Mangham. Funeral services were held at Mangham Baptist church at 2 p. m. Sunday. Conducting services were the Revs. Paul Brooks, Clarence Young and C. W. Jones, Sr. Burial was in Gwinn Cemetery in Mangham. Deacons of Mangham Baptist church were pallbearers. ----------------------------------------------------- The Franklin Sun Winnsboro, LA May 9, 1963 Submitted August 2008 by: Glenda Warner Boyd Jimmie Ray Crum Accident Claims 16-Year-Old's Life Injuries suffered in a Saturday night highway accident claimed the life of 16-year-old Jimmie Ray Crum of Fort Necessity Tuesday. The son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Clinton Crum, Jimmie Ray was fatally hurt about 12:45 a.m. Saturday, when his father's 1960 truck overturned at the intersection of highways 618 and 135. Walter A. Crain, 21, of star route south, driver of the truck, was charged by state police with reckless driving. He was taken to Rogers clinic by ambulance for treatment with Jimmie Ray. State police investigation indicated the truck was traveling at about 60 miles an hour, when young Crain lost control of it as it approached a slight curve in the road. The truck left the roadway, then overturned. Damages to the truck were estimated at $1200. Funeral services for Jimmie Ray were held at Jigger Pentecostal church at 4 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Jack Jones, assisted by the Rev. Herschel Clanton, officiated. Interment was in Oak Grove cemetery. Surviving the boy, in addition to his parents, are: two brothers, Clinton and Jerry Crum; and two sisters, Opal Jones and Kathy Crum. Ellzey Funeral services for Edward C. Ellzey 77 year old retired druggist of Winnsboro, were conducted at 9 a.m. May 14 in First National Funeral home chapel and at 3:30 p.m. at Felder Methodist church at Summit, Miss. The Rev. Fred Schwendimann officiated. Burial was in Felder cemetery at Summitt, Miss. Mr. Ellzey died at 5 a.m. May 13 in a local clinic after a long illness. A native of Lincoln county, Miss. he had made his home here for 25 years and was a member of the First Methodist church of Winnsboro. Mr. Ellzey is survived by; his wife, Mrs. E.C. Ellzey; three sisters, Mrs. G.N. Felder, Mrs. E.R. Gordon and Mrs B.P. Albritton, all of McComb, Miss.; and a number of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Dewey Roberts, Walter Huff, Abner Box, A. J. Stephens, Davis Brown, Harold Gentry, Joe Hooper, Charles Moore and B.T. Mr. Langley, a veteran of World War II, died May 5 at a Wichita Veterans hospital. He was 47 years old. He is survived by: three daughters, Mrs. Virginia Miller, Springhill, Mrs. Jerry Jones, Cullen, and Mrs. Celia Jones, Winnsboro; two sons, Clarence E. Langley, Jr. and Denmon Langley, both of Winnsboro; three brothers, J. T. Langley, California, Wendell Langley, New Orleans, and Claude Langley, Monroe; and six grandchildren. McMurry of route one, Gilbert, died at 10 p. m. Tuesday in a local clinic after a long illness. He was 93 years old. A retired farmer, Mr. McMurry had made his home near Gilbert for 18 years. He was born August 30, 1869 in Birmingham, Ala., and was a member of Magnolia Baptist church. Funeral services for Mr. McMurry were held at 2 p. m. today at Magnolia church. The Rev. C. E. Thornhill officiated. Mr. McMurry is survived by five sons, Sam McMurry of Winnsboro, Ernest McMurry, Laurel, Miss., Leonard, Sherman and Carl McMurry, all of Gilbert; a daughter, Mrs. Liddie Barfield, Winnsboro; 10 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and a number of great great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Tavie Temple and Mrs. J. Prickett of Winnsboro died after a brief illness Tuesday at Rogers Clinic. Ninety three years old, she had lived in Franklin parish for 76 years. She was born January 6, 1870 at Richland Parish and was a member of Boeuf Prairie Methodist Church. Surviving Mrs. Prickett are: six children, Lucy Prickett and W. F. Prickett, both of Winnsboro, Lynn Prickett of El Dorado, Ark., Percy Prickett of Pine Bluff, Ark.,, Mrs. G. M. Jones of Dermott, Ark., and Joseph Prickett of Extension; 10 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; and one brother, Benjamin Bryan, Port Arthur, Tex. Funeral services were held at Mulhearn Funeral Chapel of Winnsboro at 10 a. m.. Thursday. The Rev. Lamont Rouse was assisted in conducting the services by the Rev. Clarence Young. Interment followed in New Winnsboro Cemetery.
