He was a farmer and member of Lone Cedar Baptist church. Funeral services were held at Boeuf River Baptist church at 2 p.m., July 10, with the Rev. L. C. Lord officiating, assisted by the Revs. F. B. Boyett and Hershel Clanton. Burial was at Ogden Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Beverly Polk, Winnsboro; two sons, James Dewey Polk, Jr., Winnsboro, and Lonnie Ray Polk, Winnsboro; two daughters; Misses Gloria Jean and Tammy Polk of Winnsboro; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lonnie Polk, Winnsboro; and one brother, Dennie O.
