Joe S. Evans, 88, Dies Recently at Delhi


Joe S. Evans, 88-year-old retired farmer of Route 1, Baskin, who succumbed 
February 10 in a Delhi nursing home, was buried the following day in the Masonic 
Cemetery at Delhi. The Rev. James McNair and the Rev. Joe Mongle officiated at the last rites.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Mary Alice Jernigan, Baskin, and Mrs. Minnie Lee Ricardo, 
Port Arthur, Tex.; a son, W. B. Evans, Monroe, eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers were Milton Roberts, Allen Roberts, George Evans, Norman Evans, 
A. J. Hunter and John Ober.
