Mapp ********************************************** The Franklin Sun Winnsboro, LA June 24, 1965 Submitted September 2009 by: Glenda Warner Boyd Mrs. Mary Clark Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon for Mrs. Mary Bell Clark, 81, who died Monday in a Winnsboro rest home, after a long illness. The funeral was at Turkey Bluff Baptist Church, and burial was in Harris Cemetery. The Rev. James Bonner, the Rev. Charles Chapman and the Rev. W. D. Grant conducted the rites. Mrs. Clark was a resident of Route 1, Winnsboro. Survivors include seven sons, C. R., C. E., and J. W. Clark, all of Winnsboro, Emmett Clark of Jackson, Miss., Dalton Clark of Modesta, Calif., Raymond Clark of Baskin, and J. A. Clark of Delhi; three daughters, Mrs. Zelia Sturdivant, Mrs. Tennie Lewis and Mrs. Eva Killian, all of Winnsboro; two sisters, Mrs. Fannie Moody of Goldonna and Mrs. Alice Freeman of Arkansas; and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Serving as pallbearers were W. M. and DeWitt Jordan, Julian Laborde, D. J. Monroe, Pete Polen and Douglas Graney. -------------------------------------------------- The Franklin Sun Winnsboro, LA June 24, 1965 Submitted September 2009 by: Glenda Warner Boyd Mrs. Luther Eppinette Succumbs to Injuries Received in Accident Last rites for Mrs. Luther Eppinette, formerly of Winnsboro and the mother of two local residents, who succumbed late Monday to injuries received in a June 13 automobile accident, were held Wednesday afternoon. Mrs. Eppinette, 66, was a resident of West Monroe, and the funeral was at the First Baptist Church there, with interment following in Twin Cities Memorial Gardens. Officiating were Dr. Clifton Tennison of West Monroe and the Rev. Clarence Young of Winnsboro. Mrs. Eppinette was the mother of Mrs. C. H. Wiltshire and Mrs. Robert Lowe of Winnsboro. Mrs. Eppinette was a passenger in an auto driven by her husband when the accident occurred. The couple was returning home from church shortly after noon when their auto collided with two other vehicles at the intersection of Pine and N. 7th Streets in West Monroe. She was taken to Glenwood Hospital, West Monroe, where she had been under treatment since the accident. Mrs. Eppinette was an active member of the First Baptist Church of West Monroe and a member of the Lydia Sunday School class there and was active in the Women's Missionary Union of the church. Surviving, in addition to her husband and two local daughters, are four sons, Charles Eppinette of Cherry Point, N. C., James Eppinette of Texarkana, Ark., Jimmy Eppinette of Taylor and Eugene Eppinette of Ft. Meade, Md,; one other daughter, Mrs. Julius Wink of West Monroe; a brother, Henry Huey of Jackson, Miss.; five sisters, Mrs. Cora Smith of Houston, Tex., Mrs. Mary Upchurch of Jackson, Mrs. Lillie Kilgo of Pineville, Mrs. Belle Addie of Decatur, Miss., and Mrs. Velma Taylor; 18 children (sic grandchildren) and a great-grandchild. ------------------------------------------------ The Franklin Sun Winnsboro, LA June 24, 1965 Submitted May 2009 by: Glenda Warner Boyd Jesse L. Mapp Jesse L. Mapp, 65-year-old Baskin resident, was buried Sunday afternoon in Baskin cemetery, following funeral services at Baskin Baptist Church. He died Friday in a hospital at Monroe. Officiating at the final rites were the Rev. Jennie Shephed and the Rev. C. W. Jones. Serving as pallbearers were James Woods, Calvin Odom, Chester Williams, Henry Jones, J. W. Slade and Harry Mock. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary of Mapp (sic Mary Mapp of) Baskin; three sisters, Mrs. Mable Rolen of Winnsboro, Mrs. Lois Ryan of Jonesville and Mrs. Ella Hall of Marlin, Tex., and three brothers, A.
