Erskin ********************************************** The Franklin Sun Winnsboro, LA April 21, 1966 Submitted Feb. 2006 by: Glenda Warner Boyd 'Uncle Bob' Dark Last rites for 93-year-old Robert Lee (Uncle Bob) Dark were held Wednesday afternoon. The funeral was at First National Funeral Chapel, Winnsboro, and interment was in Ogden Cemetery, in the Liddieville community. The officiating minister was the Rev. John Kitchingham. Masonic graveside services were conducted. Mr. Dark, who died early Tuesday in a nursing home at Wisner was a resident of Route 5, Winnsboro. He was a past-vice-president of the Franklin Parish School Board, a member of the Columbia Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons, a past-District Deputy Grand Master of the Louisiana Grand Lodge, F.& A.M., and he held a 50-year Masonic membership certificate. Surviving are two sons, P. L. Dark, Winnsboro, and Carl Dark, Delhi; six daughters, Mrs. Ivy Simon and Mrs. Della Ross of Winnsboro, Mrs. S. C. Ferguson of Ferriday, Mrs. Audie Knight of San Diego, Calif., Mrs. D. C. McGraw, Shreveport, and Mrs. L. H. Young, New Windsor, Ill.; 22 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. Erskin Final rites were conducted Wednesday afternoon for Troy Alson Erskin, 79, who died Tuesday in a hospital here after a lengthy period of illness. The funeral was at First National Chapel, Winnsboro, and burial was in Lone Cedar Cemetery. The Rev. Bill Macon and the Rev. Brown Brown officiated. Mr. Erskin, who resided near Winnsboro, is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Evie Johns, Mrs. Jessie Cruse and Miss Sarah Erskin of Winnsboro; two sisters, Mrs. Visia Brown, Clarks, and Mrs. Edna Cruse, Winnsboro, and two brothers, Everett and Alvin Erskin, both of Winnsboro. Pallbearers were Durham, Willie and "Bo" Erskin, Gene, J.W. and J.E. Bennett. ***********************************************************************
