Adams Mrs. Ida Virginia Adams, 79, of Winnsboro was interred Tuesday morning in the Ogden Cemetery in Liddieville community, following funeral services here at First National Chapel. The Rev. Harold Davis and Dr. Randall Sledge conducted the services. Mrs. Adams died Monday morning at King's Guest Home in Winnsboro after an extended illness. She was a member of the Boeuf River Baptist Church. She is survived by a sister, Mrs. N. T. Townsend, Monroe, and a foster daughter, Mrs. Bessie Hawsey, Winnsboro. Submitter's note: Ida Virginia Liles Adams was born December 25, 1888 in Winn Parish and died September 17, 1968 in Franklin Parish. She married Levi Josephus Adams on April 15, 1906. Although the couple had no children of their own, they took orphans, Bessie and Lessie Faulk in the fall of 1913 to rear as their own. ( The children were second cousins to Levi Josephus Adams). In July 1923, when Podesta L. Liles was maternally orphaned, they took him into their home. (Podesta L. Liles was the son of Ida's brother, Hugh Lachey Liles.) *************************** The Franklin Sun Winnsboro, LA September 12, 1968 Submitted by: Glenda Warner Boyd Mrs. Rosa Buchan Funeral and burial services were conducted Saturday afternoon for Mrs. Rosa M. Buchan, 76, of Crowville, who died Friday at Rosalie Nursing Home in Wisner after an illness of long duration. The funeral was at First National Chapel in Winnsboro, and burial was in the Crowville Masonic Cemetery. The officiating minister was the Rev. Bobby L. Burgess. Mrs. Buchan is survived by three sons, Ezra and C. J. Buchan, Crowville and Elven Buchan, Little Rock, Ark.; Mrs. Ethelle Pierce, Crowville, and Mrs. Rosie Mae Parker, Delhi; 22 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. ********************************************** The Franklin Sun Winnsboro, LA September 5, 1968 Submitted July 2006 by: Glenda Warner Boyd Mrs. Snowflake Evans Funeral services were held here last Thursday afternoon at the Temple Baptist Church for Mrs. Snowflake C. Evans, 79, who died August 27, after an extended illness. Dr. Randall Sledge officiated at the rites, which were followed by interment in Monroe cemetery. Mrs. Evans was a longtime resident of Winnsboro. H. Hemphill William Harvey Hemphill, 77, died after a lengthy illness Wednesday morning at Jefferson Davis Hospital in Natchez. The funeral was to be at 2 p.m. today at the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Winnsboro, with the Rev. Gary Dangerfield officiating, followed by burial in the Ogden Cemetery.
