Mrs. Mary S. Batey

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Stampley Batey, 59, of Wisner were held 
Friday morning at the Holly Grove Baptist Church, near Wisner, and burial 
was in the church cemetery. The Rev. Phil Tisdale and the Rev. H. Dunn officiated 
at the services.
Mrs. Batey died last Wednesday night at the Winnsboro Sanitarium. She had been 
ill for a long time.
A lifelong resident of Franklin Parish, her survivors include a son, Hugh Batey, Jr., 
Wisner; three daughters, Mrs. Sadie Trahern, Mrs. Joyce Bass and Miss Lela Batey of Wisner; 
two sisters, Mrs. Lee Trahern, Wisner, and Mrs. Rosie Ensminger, Ft. Necessity, and eight grandchildren.
