Chapman, 61, of Winnsboro, died at 7 p.m. Monday at Veterans Hospital in Alexandria following a long illness. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. today at Boeuf River Baptist Church where he was a member, with the Rev. Harold Davis officiating. Burial was in Ogden Cemetery. Mr. Chapman, a Franklin Parish native, was a farmer and World War II veteran. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Wilma Chapman of Winnsboro; one son, Freddie Chapman of Winnsboro; two daughters, Miss Faye Chapman of Winnsboro and Mrs. Lorene Carroll of Rhinehart; three brothers, Elon Chapman and David Chapman, both of Winnsboro, and Leon Chapman of Delhi; one sister, Mrs. Idell McClemore of Tioga; and three grandchildren. ***************************************************** The Franklin Sun Winnsboro, LA July 24, 1969 Submitted by: Glenda Warner Boyd James E. Gill Funeral services for James Everett Gill, 66, of Winnsboro, were at 10 a. m. Monday in the Magnolia Baptist Church with the Revs. John Williams, Jr., E. W. Mixon and Lowry Russell officiating. Burial was in the Ogden Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home of Winnsboro. Mr. Gill died Saturday morning in a Ferriday hospital following a lengthy illness. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Bennie Gill of Winnsboro; two sons, James. E. Gill of Crowville and Sam Edward Gill of Terrell, Tex.; two daughters, Mrs. Gloria Ezell of Winnsboro, and Mrs. Louise Williams of Gilbert; two brothers, Luther Gill of Winnsboro; and Clifton Gill of Newellton; three sisters, Mrs, Mae Scroggins of Newellton, Mrs. Marie Foshec of Baytown, Tex., and Mrs. Lula Carr of LaPorte, Tex.; and 15 grandchildren. Pallbearers were Howard Cohn, Glen Cohn, Clifton Bryand, Ralph Gill, Luther Gill and Clifton Gill, Jr. ***************************************************** The Franklin Sun Winnsboro, LA July 24, 1969 Submitted by: Glenda Warner Boyd Robert Huber Funeral services for Robert Wayne Huber, 25, of Wisner, who drowned Friday night in the Tensas River, were at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Wisner Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Burnes officiating. Burial was in the South Central Cemetery at Wisner. The drowning occurred about two miles north of Cooter's Point around 8:15 p.m. Friday. According to Franklin Parish Deputy Sheriffs Mack Hill and Ray Cureington, the drowned man and an older brother, Russell Huber of Alexandria, and his brother's six-year old son, were in a boat putting out webbing net, when the motor sheared a pin. Huber then stood up in the boat to change positions with his brother who was to replace the pin, when the boat turned over. The elder Huber rescued his son and reported that his brother never came up, said police. Doyle Adams and Phillip Laborde officiating. Burial was in the Fort Necessity Cemetery. Mr. Impson died late Sunday in the Caldwell Hospital after a short illness. Survivors include her husband, A. A. Mr. Lilly, a native of Liberty, Miss, was employed by the city of Kerman, Calif. Funeral services were held Monday at 2 p.m. in the Assembly of God Church, Smackover, Ark. Among the survivors are one son, two daughters, 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
