Shipp ********************************************** The Franklin Sun Winnsboro, LA January 22, 1970 Submitted Feb. 2006 by: Glenda Warner Boyd Mrs. Juanita Mercer Funeral services for Mrs. Juanita Mercer, 43, of Winnsboro, were at 2 p.m. Monday at Boeuf River Baptist Church in Liddieville with the Revs. T. J. Ratcliff, Harold Davis and Edward Mixon officiating. Burial was in Ogden Cemetery. Mrs. Mercer died Friday in St. Francis Hospital after a long illness. She was a lifetime resident of Franklin Parish and a member of Boeuf River Baptist Church. She was a former employee of the Monroe office of Southern Bell Telephone, where she worked for five years. Survivors include her husband, F. D. Mercer of Winnsboro; one son, John Decker Mercer of Winnsboro; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. R. Hatton, Sr., of Winnsboro; one brother, L. R. Hatton, Jr., of Winnsboro; one sister, Mrs. Noel Tramontana of Winnsboro; six nephews and four nieces. Pallbearers were Price Turnage, Marshall Turnage, Ray Richmond, Ernest Wayne Crain, Earl Thomas, and Michelle Wiggins, with honorary pallbearers being the members of the Ogden High School boys' basketball team. ********************************************************************* The Franklin Sun Winnsboro, LA January 15, 1970 Submitted Feb. 2006 by: Glenda Warner Boyd Edward W. Shipp, 93, of Winnsboro, died Monday night at Riley Rest Home after a long illness. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of First National Funeral Home of Winnsboro with the Rev. Nathan Jones officiating. Burial was in Ogden Cemetery near here. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Eula S. Shipp of Winnsboro; two daughters, Mrs. Adelia Brynes and Mrs. Gertrude Jones, both of Winnsboro; two sons, Tony E. Watson of Gretna, and Calvin Johnson of Ruston; 21 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. ********************************************
