McGee Sr. James Singer Sr. ********************************************** The Franklin Sun Winnsboro, LA June 3, 1971 Submitted Feb. 2006 by: Glenda Warner Boyd Hurby (Bill) Johnston Funeral services will be at the Boeuf River Baptist Church at 3 p.m. today for Hurby (Bill) Johnston, 51, of Winnsboro Route 2. The Rev. Harold Davis will officiate. Burial will be in the Ogden Cemetery. Mr. Johnston, a veteran of World War II, died Wednesday at 1:30 a.m. at his residence after an apparent heart attack. A member of the Boeuf River Baptist Church, Mr. Johnston was a lifelong resident of Franklin Parish. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Emma Johnston; a son, Billy Johnston; two brothers, John Roe Johnston and -------------------------------------------------- The Franklin Sun Winnsboro, LA June 10, 1971 Submitted April 2009 by: Glenda Warner Boyd Thomas Lambert Funeral services were at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday for Thomas Woodrow Lambert, 55, of Winnsboro, in the chapel of First National Funeral Home here with the Revs. Lee Perkins and Hoke Dupree officiating. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery near here. Mr. Lambert died Monday in the Veterans Administration Hospital of Alexandria following a lengthy illness. Survivors include one brother, Hoover Lambert of Winnsboro; four sisters, Mrs. Graco Dunn, Mrs. John Duncan and Mrs. Elnora Davis, all of Winnsboro, and Mrs. Guy Nichols of Delhi; and a number of nieces and nephews. McGee Sr. Funeral services for Jesse P. McGee Sr., 76, of Winnsboro, were at 2 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Mulhearn's Funeral Home here with the Revs. Bennie Alford and Richard Wilson officiating. Burial was in the Welcome Home Cemetery at Grayson. Mr. McGee died Saturday at his residence following an apparent heart attack. A native of Caldwell parish, he was a retired farmer. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Effie B. McGee of Winnsboro; two sons, Cecil E. McGee and J. P. McGee Jr., both of Monroe; one daughter, Mrs. Louis C. McQueen of West Monroe; three brothers, Henry McGee of Jena, George McGee of Austin, Tex., and Richard McGee of Concord, Calif., one sister, Mrs. W. M. Smythe of New Orleans; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Pallbearers were J. C. Sanford, D. W. Williamson, Ernest Otwell, Lawrence Otwell, Laverne Carroll, and D. E. Singer Sr., 68, of Winnsboro, were at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of First National Funeral Home of Winnsboro with the Rev. Joe Mongle officiating. Burial was in Ogden Cemetery. Mr. Singer died Sunday at St. Francis Hospital in Monroe after a short illness. He was a retired truck driver for the State Department of Highways. Survivors include three sons, James T. Singer, Jr. of Bossier City, John C. Singer of Longview, Tex., and Tab Singer of New Orleans; one daughter, Mrs. Darlene Crowell of Baton Rouge; three sisters, Mrs. Mattie Lee Lehman of Alexandria, Mrs. Sue Hawelk of Texarkana, Ark., and Miss Eunice Singer of Winnsboro; and four grandchildren. ******************************************
