Thornhill ********************************************** ********************************************** The Franklin Sun Winnsboro, LA December 23, 1971 Submitted April 2009 by: Glenda Warner Boyd Mrs. Lena Barnett Funeral services for Mrs. Lena Mae Barnett, 68, of Wisner were at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Mulhearn's Funeral Home here with the Rev. Benny Alford officiating. Burial was in the Fort Necessity Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Barnett died Monday morning in the Franklin Parish hospital following a lengthy illness. She was a native of Zwolle and had lived in Franklin Parish Parish for many years. Survivors include one brother, Joseph E. Johnson, of Extension; one half-brother, Arley Hastings of Harrington, Ill.; and one half-sister, Mrs. Laura Marry of Carbondale, Ill. Pallbearers were Allen Gilmore, R. S. Bonner, Frank Barfield, A. McLain Funeral services for Guy V. McLain, 67, of Delhi were at 10 a.m. Tuesday at First National Funeral Home here with the Revs. Jack Cook and Pat Loftin officaiting. Burial was in Crowville Masonic Cemetery. Mr. McLain died late Sunday at his residence after an apparent heart attack. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Noel McLain of Delhi; a son, Jerry B. McLain of Baton Rouge; one brother, S. P. McLain; and one sister, Miss Nora McLain, both of Brandon, Miss. Pallbearers were Vester Busby, J. O. Funeral services were 2 p.m., Sunday in the chapel of First National Funeral Home here with the Rev. Floyd Hawthorne officiating. Burial was in the Old Ogden Cemetery near Winnsboro. Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Cecil Nichols of Winnsboro; six brothers, James Nichols of Fort Bragg, N.C., Robert Lee Nichols, Charles E. Nichols, Sidney Nichols, Joe C. Nichols Jr., and Allan Nichols, all of Winnsboro; two sisters, Miss Margaret Nichols and Miss Pam Nichols, both of Winnsboro; and paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. I. L. Thornhill 84 of Rt. 2 Winnsboro died Friday morning at Caldwell Parish Hospital at Columbia after a lengthy illness. Funeral services were at 3 p. m. Saturday at Boeuf River Baptist Church with the Revs. Harold Davis and Ray McMurray officiating Burial was in Oakley Cemetery. Mr. Thornhill was a retired farmer he had lived in Franklin Parish for the last 50 years and was a native of Franklin Co., Miss., He was a member of Boeuf River Baptist Church. Survivors include four daughters Mrs. Emma Johnson, Mrs. Irma Johnson, and Mrs. Maggie Bell Brady all of Winnsboro and Mrs. Mattie McMurray of Fresno Calif. two sons, Jim Thornhill of Kerman, Calif. and K. T. Thornhill of Monroe. One brother Yancy Thornhill of Winnsboro two sisters Mrs. Doyle Wactor of Winnsboro, and Mrs. Emily Roland of Houston, Tex. *************************************
