Thomason ********************************************** ********************************************** The Franklin Sun Winnsboro, LA January 20, 1972 Submitted November 2008 by: Glenda Warner Boyd Mrs. Maude Bledsoe Mrs. Maude (Ma Cook) Bledsoe, 86, of Crowville, died early Sunday morning in the Winnsboro Manor Rest Home here after a lengthy illness. Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Monday in the chapel of First National Funeral Home of Winnsboro with the Rev. Robert McDonald officiating. Burial was in the City Cemetery at Natchez, Miss. Mrs. Bledsoe was a member of the First Baptist Church of Crowville and had resided in Crowville for the past 58 years. Survivors include three sons, Henry Clayton Cook of Dayton, Tex., Horace G. Cook and Marion B. Cook, both of Houston, Tex.; two daughters, Mrs. Addie Ashley of Delhi and Mrs. Madeline Gregory of Columbia; one brother, J. D. Porter Jr. of Denton, Tex.; two sisters, Mrs. Maggie Silberisen of Seguin, Tex. and Mrs. Eunice Gann of Georgetown, Tex.; 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren and 18 great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were W. C. Martin and Caleb Martin, Carey Martin Stevens, Kenneth Killian, Vernon McManus, Jimmy B. Bradley Funeral services for Mrs. Claudine Polk Bradley, 47, of Equality, Ala., and formerly of Winnsboro, were at 3:30 Monday in Memory Chapel in Montogomery. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery. Mrs. Bradley, a 1941 graduate of Winnsboro High School, died as the result of a drowning accident last Friday near Montogomery. She was the daughter of the late Mrs. Pauline Polk. Survivors include her husband Col. (ret.) Clyde W. Bradley, Jr.; two sons, Bill Bradley and Bryan Bradley; one duaghter, Miss Brenda Bradley, all of Equality; one sister, Mrs. Jean P. Lofton of Springhill; and one brother, Cecil E. The Rev. Fred Corey will officiate. Mr. MaManus, a retired farmer, died January 18 at E. A. Conway Hospital in Monroe after a lengthy illness. Interment will be in the Central Cemetery near Wisner. He is survived by five sons, David McManus, Rayville; George McManus, Lannie McManus, Ray MaManus and Roy MaManus, all of Gilbert; a daughter, Mrs. Glydia Walters, Wisner; 23 grandchildren and 41 great grandchildren. ----------------------------------------------------- The Franklin Sun Winnsboro, LA January 20, 1972 Submitted November 2008 by: Glenda Warner Boyd Mrs. Rena Poland Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Friday at Fish Bayou Baptist Church for Mrs. Rena Welch Poland, 49, of Winnsboro, who died last Wednesday at Richland Parish Hospital in Delhi after a long illness. The Rev. Denver Smith officiated assisted by the Rev. J. E. May. Burial was in Harris Cemetery near here. Mrs. Poland was a lifelong resident here and an active member of Fish Bayou Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, O. Pete Poland of Winnsboro; three daughters, Mrs. Ona Faye Wright, Miss Jane Poland and Mary Ruth Poland, all of Winnsboro; three sons, Charles Poland and Jackie Ray Poland, both of Winnsboro and Carey Poland of Pittsburgh, Penn.; two brothers, M. P. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Monday at First National Funeral Home wih the Revs. Floyd Hawthorne, Jessie Hawthorne and Julius Roberts officiating. Burial was in Coax Cemetery.
