Duncan Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Wednesday for Willie L. Duncan, 86, of Baskin, at First National Funeral Home of Winnsboro with the Rev. Earl Teague and James Folds officiating. Burial was in Reagan Cemetery. Mr. Duncan, a native of Georgia, died Sunday at E. A. Conway Memorial Hospital in Monroe after a brief illness. A member of the Baptist church, he had lived in Franklin Parish since 1929, was a retired farmer and bridge foreman for Southern Railroad Co. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Arel R. Duncan of Baskin; two sons, William M. Duncan of Baskin and Williard R. Duncan of Las Vegas, Nev.; two daughters, Mrs. J. D. Mosely of Urania and Mrs. Ruby Tison of Alexandria; two brothers, Claude Duncan and Frank Duncan; three sisters, Mrs. Cora Parker, Miss Jeannette Duncan, all of Collinsville, Ala., and Mrs. Ethel Dollar of Goshen, Ala.; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. --------------------------------------------------- The Franklin Sun Winnsboro, LA April 6, 1972 Submitted January 2009 by: Glenda Warner Boyd Albert M. Flint Funeral services for Albert M. Flint, 61, of Baskin were at 10 a.m. Saturday at Pleasant Hale Baptist Church with the Revs. Ed Weatherly and Phillip LaBorde officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Hale Cemetery. Mr. Flint died Thursday night at Winnsboro Sanitarium after a short illness. A native of Mississippi, he had lived in Baskin for 30 years. Mr. Flint was a retired gin operator and a member of Pine Hale Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Annie Flint of Baskin; two sons, Noble Flint of West Monroe and Frank Flint of Shreveport; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Searcy of Pine Bluff, Ark., and Miss Carolyn Flint of Baton Rouge; one brother, Raymond Flint of Winnsboro; and eight grandchildren. --------------------------------------------------- The Franklin Sun Winnsboro, LA April 6, 1972 Submitted January 2009 by: Glenda Warner Boyd Mrs. Pauline Sutton Funeral services for Mrs. Pauline Sutton, 21, of Winnsboro, were at Cuba Baptist Church with the Rev. R. N. Teats officiating. Burial was at State Cemetery. Mrs. Sutton died last Wednesday at E.A. Conway Memorial Hospital of Monroe after a brief illness. She is survived by her husband, Morris Sutton; a daughter, Miss Sandra Sutton, both of Winnsboro; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Smith of Gilbert; and one brother, Isiah Robertson of Kenner. -------------------------------------------------- The Franklin Sun Winnsboro, LA April 20, 1972 Submitted May 2006 by: Glenda Warner Boyd Mrs. Rettie Wesley Mrs. Rettie Wesley, 91, Winnsboro, died April 14 at Manor Nursing Home following a lengthy illness. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on April 15 at the chapel of First National Funeral Home. The Revs. Travis Cooper and Jack Jones officiated. Burial was in Ogden cemetery. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Idell Jones, Monroe, Mrs. Inez Croke of Winnsboro, and Mrs. Florence Croke of Shreveport; two sisters, Mrs. Bessie Davis and Mrs. Gussie Simon, Winnsboro; two brothers, Jim Johnson and Jake Johnson, Monroe; 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren, and a number of stepchildren, nieces and nephews. ******************************************************************** The Franklin Sun Winnsboro, LA April 20, 1972 Submitted September 2006 by: Glenda Warner Boyd Fred Williams Merit Fred Williams, 40, of Liddieville died Saturday at a Wisner nursing home after a long illness. Funeral services were at 4:30 p.m. Sunday at Boeuf River Baptist Church. The Revs. A. E. Gibson and L. F. LaPrairie officiated with burial following at Ogden Cemetery. Mr. Williams was a retired pipeline-operator and a member of Boeuf River Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Maudell Williams of Liddieville; a son Merit Edward Williams; two daughters, Miss Asonya Kim Williams and Miss Pamela Lynn Williams; all of Winnsboro; parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. E. "Ned" Williams of Winnsboro; one brother, Glen L. Williams of Crowville; three sisters, Mrs. Bill Eaker of Tallulah, Mrs. Peaches Davis of Wisner and Mrs. Jerry D. Jones of Mangham. Pallbearers were Bud Madden, Robert Earl Williams, Ralph Ross, Sidney R. Ross.
