Burial was in New Winnsboro Cemetery. Mr. Carter died Friday night of an apparent heart attack. He was a former resident of Winnsboro and was a veteran of World War II. Interment was in Chase cemetery, with local arrangements under the direction of First National Funeral Home. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Edith Crooks, Ouinton, Miss.; a brother, Grover Crooks, Winnsboro; three sisters, Mrs. A. C. Mr. Ezell died Saturday at Franklin Parish Hospital after a long illness. A native of Gilbert, he was a retired farmer and a member of the Baptist Church. Mr. Fatheree died Thursday at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Alexandria after a long illness. He was a veteran of World War II. Mrs. Hilbun died Friday at Franklin Parish Hospital after a long illness. A native of Winn Parish, she resided in Franklin Parish for the past 51 years. Gilbert Lodge No. 423 F&AM, and a retired farmer. Survivors include four sons, C. W. M. McMahan Lawrence M. McMahan, 63, of Wisner died Saturday morning at his residence after a lengthy illness. Funeral services were Sunday at 2 p.m. at the South Central Baptist Church near Wisner with the Revs. Sam Aucoin and James Hodges officiating. Masonic graveside services were held at the church cemetery. Arrangements were under direction of First National Funeral Home of Winnsboro. Mr. McMahan was a retired dairyman, a member of the South Central Baptist Church, a lifelong resident of Wisner and a member of T.B. Gilbert Lodge No. 423 F&AM. Purser Retired School Director P. R. (Pop) Purser Dies Paul R. (Pop) Purser, 70, of Winnsboro, retired director of the Northeast Louisiana Vocational School here, died Tuesday night at Franklin Parish Hospital after a brief illness. Funeral services were at 2:30 p.m. at Mulhearn Funeral Home here with the Rev. Glen Messer officiating. Burial was in the Providence Memorial Cemetery of Winnsboro. Mr. Purser was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Winnsboro, a resident of Winnsboro for the past 21 years, a member of the Winnsboro Lions Club, and was active in all phases of youth activity in the Winnsboro community. At the time of his death, he was the training director of the Hanover Modular Homes in St. Joseph. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Irma Elaine Purser of Winnsboro; one daughter, Mrs. Betty Jackson of Winnfield; three sons, Don Purser of Winnfield, Dr. Robert Purser of Opelousas and Paul C. Masonic graveside services followed at the church cemetery under the direction of First National Funeral Home of Winnsboro. Mr. Smith was found dead of gunshot wound at the Winnsboro Hotel Wednesday. He was a native of Brookhaven, Miss., and had resided in Franklin Parish for the past 45 years. He was a mechanic and truck driver, a veteran of World War II, a member of the Masonic lodge and the Magnolia Baptist Church. Survivors include one son, James Earl Smith of Gilbert; one daughter, Mrs. Maxine Hatton of Winnsboro; his father, G. B. Smith Sr. of Gilbert; two brothers, Marvin Smith of West Monroe and G. B.
