Aswell Henry Clifford Aswell, 46, died April 15 in Houston, Tex., following a brief illness. Funeral services for Mr. Aswell were 3 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Winnsboro, with the Rev. Perry Kent officiating. Interment was in Hewitt Cemetery in Richland Parish. Mr. Aswell, who was born in Waterproof, was a member of the Free Methodist Church and a veteran of World War II. He is survived by his wife, Mary Virginia Aswell, Houston; two sons, Clifford Wayne Aswell and James Aswell, Houston; two daughters, Miss Frances Anetta Aswell and Miss Sherron Rena Aswell. Houston; three brothers, J. B. Aswell, Ferriday; Sidney Aswell, Bastrop; Allen Aswell, Houston; four sisters, Mrs. Shirley McCurley, Winnsboro; Mrs. Daniel Lofton, Winnsboro; Mrs. Willie Nichols, Houston; Mrs. Fred Young, West Monroe. Smith Funeral services for Earl X. Smith, 73, of Winnsboro were at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Lone Cedar Baptist Church near Winnsboro. Burial was in the Myrtle Memorial Cemetery here under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home of Winnsboro. Mr. Smith died Sunday afternoon, April 8, at Franklin Parish Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was a native of Lawrence County, Miss., and had resided in the Lone Cedar Community for 42 years. He was a retired farmer, a member of the Lone Cedar Baptist Church and a veteran of World War I. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Cora E. Smith of Winnsboro; three sons, Cecil Smith of Houston, Tex., J. O. (Bubba) Smith of Winnsboro and Rogers Smith of Monroe; two daughters, Mrs. Esta L. Pace of Dallas, Tex., and Mrs. Earline Banks of Winnsboro,12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. -----------------------------------------------------
