Rev. Benny Alford and Rev. James Carson officiated in the services which were held at 10 a.m. that day in Fort Necessity Baptist Church. Mr. Barfield was born June 25, 1905, in Winnsboro. At the time of his death, he was retired from a dual occupation, farming and cabinet making. Mr. Barfield was a member of Fort Necessity Baptist Church where he served as Deacon. He died Thursday, July 11, at Glenwood Hospital in West Monroe. Mr. Barfield was buried at Fort Necessity Baptist Church cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lessie Barfield, Winnsboro; three sons, Cabert Q. Barfield, Jigger; James F. Barfield, Jigger; Ross A. Barfield, West Monroe; two daughters, Mrs. Margery Nell Mason, Winnsboro; Mrs. Janette Sharbano, Shreveport; one brother, Felix Barfield, Winnsboro; three sisters, Miss Annie Barfield, Gilbert; Mrs. Stella Ross, Gilbert; Mrs. Lela Ward, Winnsboro; and 13 grandchildren. Pallbearers were Johnny Austin, R. S. Bonner, Allen Gilmore, Kenneth Gilmore, Jessie Ross, Ray Bryan, Bonner Wiggers and Howard Beach. ************************************ The Franklin Sun Winnsboro, LA July 4, 1974 Submitted May 2007 by: Glenda Warner Boyd Arnie Gibson Funeral services for Arnie E. Gibson Jr., 14, of Liddieville, were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 3, with Rev. A. L. New and Rev. Wilmer Hendry officiating. Burial was in Ogden Cemetery. He is survived by his parents, Rev. and Mrs. A. E. Gibson, Winnsboro; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. M. D. Arrington, Pineville; and an aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Schultz, Alexandria. The youth was a student at Ogden High School and a member of Boeuf River Baptist Church. Pallbearers were John D. Horne, Harold Russell, Dolphus Tarver, Charlie Ray Jennings, W. A. Jones, Milton Albritton, Cecil Russell and Harvey Davis. The accident happened in LaBorde. Mrs. Moore, a resident of Melville, was originally from Mississippi. She was a housewife. Services for the victim were held at Melville Methodist Church at 11 a.m. July 17. Graveside services at South Central Baptist cemetery in Wisner followed at 3 p.m. A member of Melville Methodist Church, Mrs. Moore is survived by her husband, Ben R. Moore; a son, Bendel Moore, Port Sulphur; two daughters, Mrs. Thomas Landry, Bogalusa, and Mrs. James Griffing, Gilbert; a sister, Mrs. Carrie Belle Patten, Baton Rouge, and three grandchildren. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
