Baskin Sr. Funeral services for John Atwell Baskin Sr. of Baskin were held at 4 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Winnsboro. Rev. Lloyd O'Neal officiated in the services. Burial was in Union Cemetery. The 80-year-old Mr. Baskin was a member of Union Presbyterian Church. He was a retired farmer and a veteran of World War I. He died September 5, at Glenwood Hospital, West Monroe, following a lengthy illness. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Beulah Lowry Baskin, Baskin; two sons, Gary Baskin and Richard Baskin, both of Baskin; two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Baskin, Baskin; and Mrs. Ellerbe Bell, Kilgore, Tex.; and one granddaughter. Pallbearers were Eastes Lowery, Robert Lowery, Henry Temple, J. H. Berry Funeral services for Sam Lee Berry, 84, of Wisner, were held Tuesday, Sept. 10, in South Central Baptist Church. Rev. Sam Aucoin and Rev. Enon Boyette officiated. Burial was in Holly Grove Cemetery, Wisner. Mr. Berry died at his residence September 9. He is survived by one son, Robert Berry, Wisner; one daughter, Mrs. Gertrude Johnson, New Orleans; three brothers, Louis Berry, Winnsboro; Fred Berry, Wisner; Pat Berry, Baton Rouge; one sister, Mrs. Ruth Martin, Wisner; and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. in Temple Baptist Church with Dr. Randall Sledge officiating. Burial was in South Central Cemetery, Wisner. Mr. Lowery was employed as a construction worker. He was a veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Carrie Lowery, Winnsboro; one son, John Dale Lowery, Winnsboro; one daughter, Mrs. Patricia Freeman, Winnsboro; one sister, Mrs. Virlee Pippin, Winnsboro; one half-sister, Mrs. Susie Copeland, West Monroe; and two grandchildren. She was a resident of Wisner. Mrs. Warner was a member of Holly Grove Baptist Church. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, at Holly Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Raymond Warren and Rev. Fred Keyes officiating. Burial was in Holly Grove Cemetery. Mrs. Warner is survived by her husband, Arnold Warner, Wisner; one son, Jerry Warner, New Orleans; her mother, Mrs. Bessie Wallace, Wisner; two brothers, William Wallace, Gainesville, Tex.; Sam Wallace, Pollock; two sisters, Mrs. Mae Lewis, Canyon, Tex.; and Mrs. Gladys Dulany, Borger, Tex.
