Rev. Quitman Britt and Rev. Denver Smith officiated at 2 p.m. Burial was in New Zion Cemetery. Mrs. Bixler died January 10th at St. Francis Hospital in Monroe. She is survived by her husband, William C. (Bill) Bixler, Winnsboro, five daughters, Mrs. Peggy Parks, Winnsboro, Mrs. Janet B. Loper, Ft. Stockman, Tex., Mrs. Patricia Platko, Vicksburg, Miss., Mrs. Charlotte Machen, Newellton, and Miss Debbie Sue Bixler, Winnsboro; two sisters, Mrs. Victoria Smith, Winnsboro, Mrs. Thelma Livingston, Winnsboro, one half-sister, Mrs. Joyce Black, Virginia; two half brothers, Cecil Creel, Douglas Creel, Bossier City; her mother, Mrs. Alice Gibbs, Winnsboro; four grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Campbell Funeral services for James Madison (Matt) Campbell of Wisner were held at 2 p.m. January 6th in South Central Baptist Church. Burial was in the church cemetery. Rev. Enon Boyette and Dr. Milton Williams officiated. Mr. Campbell died at Mary Anna Nursing Home in Wisner. He was 75 years old. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Pansy D. Campbell, Wisner; two sons, Lloyd Nolan Campbell, Westwego, James L. Jenkins, Washington, D.C., one daughter, Mrs. Marie Garner, West Monroe; one brother, John Hiram Campbell, Bude, Miss.; one sister, Mrs. Olivia Wactor, Sicily Island; and nine grandchildren. Cannon, 62, of Baskin, were held Tuesday, Dec. 31st at 2 p.m. in Baskin Baptist Church. Rev. James L. Sheppard and Rev. V. L. Pruitt officiated. Burial was in Coax Cemetery. Mr. Cannon was a retired farmer and a veteran of World War II. He died at his residence on December 29th. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Dixie Cannon, Baskin; two daughters, Mrs. Bonnie Jackson, Baskin, Peggy Ray, Mobile, Ala., his father, E.S. Cannon, Jena, three brothers, L. J. Cannon, Jena, Mack E. Nathan Henderson officiating. Burial was in Providence Memorial Cemetery. Miss Erskin is survived by her father, Avert Erskin of Winnsboro; two brothers, Durham Erskin of Winnsboro and Buddy Erskin of Winnsboro. Miss Erskin died January 3rd at Winnsboro Manor Nursing Home following a lengthy illness. Thompson and Bill McClain officiating. Burial was in Oakley Cemetery. Mr. Erwin was a retired farmer and a member of the Pentecostal Church. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mae Kincaid of Harrisonburg; one son, Joseph Clem Erwin of West Monroe; one daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Coleman of Harrisonburg; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Nathan Henderson officiating. Burial was in New Winnsboro Cemetery. Mrs. Fowler died January 1st at Franklin Parish Hospital at the age of 86. A native of Chatham, she was a member of New Zion Baptist Church. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Verna F. Smith, Winnsboro; one brother, J.E. Browder, Winnsboro; two sisters, Mrs. Lula Fowler, Monroe, Mrs. Doice Phillips, Winnsboro, three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
