Interment was in New Ogden Cemetery with Rev. Virgil Harris and Rev. Willie Parker officiating. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Dorothy Bruce McKenzie, Baskin; three sons, Donnie Johnson, Winnsboro, Richard Stokes, Denham Springs, and Jimmy Stokes, Walker. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Dorothy Bruce McKenzie, Baskin; one son, Calvin McKenzie Jr., Baton Rouge; three step-sons, Donnie Johnson, Winnsboro, Richard Stokes, Denham Springs and Jimmy Stokes, Walker; 10 grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Employees of the Louisiana State Department of Highways served as pallbearers. He was a native and life-long resident of Franklin Parish. F. Polk rites Held R. Fulton Polk, 83, of Winnsboro, died Sunday at Franklin Parish Hospital after a brief illness. Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Temple Baptist Church in Winnsboro with Dr. Randall Sledge officiating. Burial was in New Winnsboro Cemetery under the direction of Winnsboro First National Funeral Home. Masonic rites were conducted at graveside. Polk was a native of Prentiss, Miss., a resident of Winnsboro since 1907, a retired dairyman, a member of the Temple Baptist Church of Winnsboro, a member of the Royal Arch Masons, Mcguire Chapter No. 50, R&AM, Winnsboro Masonic Lodge No. 246 F&AM, Monroe Commandery, No. 7 Knights Templar, Order of the Silver Trowel, Monroe Council No 8 R&SM, El Karubah Temple and the Northeast Louisiana Shrine Club, Woodmen of the World and the American Legion Post in Winnsboro. Survivors include one son, Monroe Donald Polk of Los Angeles, Calif.; one daughter, Mrs. Bianca P. Cox of Huntsville, Ala., two brothers, Claude Polk of Winnsboro and Aaron C. Polk of Monroe; three sisters, Mrs. Bertie Taylor of Rayville, Mrs. Flora Taylor and Miss Mittie Polk, both of Winnsboro; seven grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Eddie Naff, Sammie Davis, Murry Martin, John A. Cuney, George Allen Price, Major Boone, Mackey Taylor and A. J. Franklin. Simon, 85, of Winnsboro were held at 3:30 p.m., Feb. 19th, in the Chapel of Winnsboro First National Funeral Home. Interment was in Myrtle Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Rogers Young and Dr. Randall Sledge officiating. Survivors include one brother, Jake Johnson, of Monroe and a number of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were J. R. Johnson, George Johnson, R.Z. Interment was in Coax Cemetery with Rev. Denver Smith officiating. Survivors include two sons, Edgar Smith, and Clem Smith, both of Monroe; two daughters, Mrs. Lillian Palmer, and Mrs. Izola Anderson, both of Jacksonville, Fla.; 6 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were D. V. O'Neal, J. B. Smith, Lela Smith, Steve Kemp, Aubry Thomas and Edward Whitney. He was a native of Brookhaven, Miss., and had resided in Franklin Parish since 1911.
