Virgil Dampier
 
Funeral services for Virgil Hardy (Red) Dampier, 55, of Gilbert were held at 10 a.m., 
Monday, February 11, in the Chapel of Winnsboro First National Funeral Home.
 
Interment was in Holly Grove Cemetery with the Rev. Eddie Cooper and the Rev. Dr. Milton 
Williams officiating.
 
He was self employed as a bookkeeper.
 
Survivors include his wife, Olivia Dampier, Gilbert; one daughter, Mrs. Linda Posey, Gilbert; 
two sisters, Mrs. Bill Carroll, Wisner, Mrs. Mamie Easterling, Winnsboro; one brother, Cecil 
Dampier, Wisner; 1 grandson, Stacey Frith.
 
Pallbearers were Floyd Posey, Russell Johnson, Donnie Dampier, Phillip Dampier, Jerry Dampier 
and Mickey Carroll.

Mrs. Bertha Deville
 
Funeral services for Mrs. Bertha DeVille, 76, of Winnsboro were held at 2 p.m., Sunday, 
Feb. 3, in the Chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home of Winnsboro.
 
Interment was in Ogden Cemetery with the Rev. Graham Hale and the Rev. David Oliver 
officiating.
 
She was a member of the Winnsboro Church of Christ.
 
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Bernice Watkins, Wisner; two sons, George DeVille, 
Winnsboro and Frank DeVille, Ocean Side, Calif.; three brothers, Hanee Norris, Rayville, 
Claude Norris and Bennie Norris, both of Monroe; two sisters, Mrs. Geraldine Prewitt, 
Dunn and Mrs. Willie Belle Dixon, Monroe; 21 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and a 
host of nieces and nephews.
 
Pallbearers were Buddy Rhodes, Douglas Mayo, Clyde Seibel, Williel Smith, Dalton Witcher 
and Floyd Richardson.

Mrs. Elaine Winters Smith 
 
Funeral services for Mrs. Elaine Winters Smith, 38, of Winnsboro were held at 2 p.m., 
Tuesday, Feb. 19, in the Chapel of Winnsboro First National Funeral Home.
 
Interment was in Ogden Cemetery with the Rev. Neal Fryer officiating.
 
Survivors include her husband, Davis Smith, Winnsboro; two sons, Steven Winters, and 
Benny Smith, both of Winnsboro; one daughter, Mrs. Tammy Lowe, Winnsboro; four brothers, 
Louis (Buck) Winters, Clayton (Curly) Winters, and J. C. Winters, all of Winnsboro and 
Marlin Winters, LeCompte; four sisters, Mrs. Lucy Roy, Ft. Worth, Tex., Mrs. Judy Knight, 
Miami, Fla., Mrs. Linda Sue Posey, and Mrs. Earline Simons, both of Winnsboro; 
2 grandchildren.
 
Pallbearers were Delbert Cockerham, L. J. Jordan, J. R. Shipley, Billy Rollins, 
Lonnis Jones, Charles McClelland.
