Interment was in Oakley Cemetery with the Rev. W. W. Bevill and the Rev. Charlie White, officiating. A native of Washington, she was born Jan. 10, 1901. She was a retired school teacher. She died on Dec. 18, 1982, of a lengthy illness. J. Hawsey Funeral services for L. J. "Broad' Hawsey, 71, of Winnsboro were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 21, in Boeuf River Baptist Church with the Rev. Randy Bowman officiating. Interment was in Ogden Cemetery under the direction of Winnsboro First National Funeral Home. A native of Winnfield, he was born Jan. 11, 1911. He was a retired farmer. He died on Dec. 19, 1982, of a lengthy illness. Survivors include his wife, Maudie Russell Hawsey, Winnsboro; two sons, Glen Hawsey, Burlson, Texas and Jerry Hawsey , Winnsboro; one brother, Jeff Hawsey, Winnsboro; four sisters, Mrs. Bonita Thompson, Mrs. Cora Smith, Mrs. Mildred Nugent, all of Winnsboro and Mrs. Doris Hendry, Monroe; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Submitter's note: Laudrick James ("Broad") Hawsey was born to the union of Andrew Jackson Hawsey, Jr. and Pearl Adire Smith. Interment was in South Central Cemetery, Wisner, with the Rev. Eddie Erwin officiating. A native of Wisner, she was born March 20, 1925. She was a housewife. She died on Dec. 17, 1982 of a lengthy illness. Survivors include one son, John Dale Lowery, Monroe; one daughter, Mrs. Patricia Freeman, Winnsboro; two sisters, Mrs. Edna Ward, Delhi and Mrs. Jo Knox, Jigger; and three grandchildren.
