Interment was in Magnolia Cemetery with the Rev. Joe Smith and the Rev. Enon Boyette officiating. A native of Lucian, she was born Nov. 14, 1912. She was a housewife. She died on Oct. 20, 1983, following a lengthy illness. Survivors include two sons, Richard Smith, Jr., Winnsboro and Roy Smith, West Monroe; two daughters, Clara Smith, West Monroe and Faye Freeman, Shreveport; one brother, Monroe Jenkins, Wisner; 17 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Interment was in New Winnsboro Cemetery with the Rev. Joe Joyner officiating. He was a retired welder and a Baptist. He died on Oct. 10, 1983, following a lengthy illness. Wilmer Hendry officiating. Interment was in Chase Cemetery under the direction of Winnsboro First National Funeral Home. A native of Prentiss, Miss., he was born Oct. 16, 1915. He was a retired farmer. He died on Oct. 20, 1983, following a brief illness. Survivors include his wife, Thelma Goodman, Chase; three sons, Devon Goodman, Jerry Goodman, and Dale Goodman, all of Chase; three brothers, Walter Goodman and Cleve Goodman, both of Winnsboro and Bobby Goodman, Chase; three sisters, Mrs. Gladys Lofton, Pineville, Jewel Kramer, Winnsboro and Doris Niles, Orlando, Fla.; and six grandchildren. Burial was in Monroe Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. T. Earl Ogg officiating. A native of Winnsboro, he was a resident of Monroe for 50 years, a retired restaurant owner, veteran of World War I, member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and member of the L. B. Faulk American Legion Post. He died on Friday, Oct. 21, following a brief illness. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Laura Earle Montgomery of Monroe; two half-brothers, Roy Montgomery of Winnsboro and Raymond Montgomery, Baton Rouge; one sister, Mrs. Zelma Free, Winnsboro and a number of neices and nephews. She died on Oct. 22, 1983, following a lengthy illness. Survivors include three sons, Walter Pippins, and Earl Pippins, both of Slidell and Harold Pippins, Morgan City; two daughters, Betty Young, Charleston, W.V., and Neva Newcomer, Datona Beach, Fla.; one brother Jeff Hawsey, Winnsboro; three sisters, Mrs. Mildred Nugent, Monroe, Mrs. Doris Hendry and Mrs. Bonita Thompson, both of Winnsboro; 10 grandchildren and a host of neices and nephews.
