Willie Moses officiating. Interment was in the Church Cemetery under the direction of Richardson and Sims Funeral Home of Winnsboro. Mrs. Cooper died on Nov. 4, 1984, following a brief illness. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Gladys Buie, Monroe, Mrs. Lenner Bell Tolliver, Omaha, Neb., and Mrs. Earline Mathis, Houston, Texas; four sons, Charlie Mathis, Chicago, Ill., Bonnie Mathis and Robert Cooper, both of Houston, Texas and Huey Mathis of Monroe; four sisters, Susie Tolliver, Monroe, Fannie Haggins, Winnsboro, Lusettie Renald Johnson, Chicago, Ill., and Doris Bradley, Winnsboro; 79 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren. ---------------------------------------------------------- The Franklin Sun Winnsboro, LA November 14, 1984 Submitted February 2009 by: Glenda Warner Boyd Hilton Horace Hammons Funeral services for Hilton Horace Hammons, 85, of Winnsboro, were held at 2 p.m., Nov. 7, in the Chapel of Winnsboro First National Funeral Home. Interment was in Providence Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Bobby Brown and the Rev. Wayne Smith officiating. A native of Winnfield, he was born Dec. 21, 1898. He was a restaurant operator. He died on Nov. 5, 1984, following a lengthy illness. Survivors include two sons, Jack Hammons, Winnsboro, and Garvin Hammons, Waskom, Texas; one daughter, Mrs. C. B. "Nell" Stigall, Vidalia; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Charles Wood, Bobby Wood, John Wood, Jerry Kennedy, Randy Kennedy and J. J. A native of Florence, Miss., he was born April 23, 1894. He was a farmer and a veteran of World War II. He died on Oct. 30, 1984, following a lengthy illness. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Dorthula Nichols, Winnsboro; three sons, Millard Nichols, Graham, Wash., Herbert Nichols, Winnsboro and William B. She died on Nov. 25, 1984, following a brief illness.
