Mamie Chapman 
 
Funeral services for Mrs. Mamie Chapman, 80, of Winnsboro, 
were held at 11 a.m., Jan. 20 in Boeuf River 
Baptist Church with the Rev. Bruce Cardin and the 
Rev. Charles Chapman officiating.
Interment was in Ogden Cemetery under the direction of 
Winnsboro First National Funeral Home.
A native of Winnsboro, she was born Oct. 17, 1904. She was 
a housewife. She died on Jan. 28, 1985, following a brief illness.
Survivors include three sons, A.J. Chapman, Morgan City, George Anthony 
Chapman, Baton Rouge and Jimmy Ray Chapman, West Monroe; six grandchildren 
and six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Bud Johnston, Billy Johnston, Adolphus Tarver, 
Charles Ray Jennings, Fred Burt and Charles Hendry.

Mrs. Etta Lee Polk
 
Funeral services for Mrs. Etta Lee Polk, 82, of Winnsboro were held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 7, 
in the Chapel of Winnsboro First National Funeral Home.
Interment was in Ogden Cemetery with the Rev. Bobby Brown officiating.
A native of Wesson, Miss., she was born Jan. 27, 1903. She was a housewife. 
She died on Feb. 5, 1985, following a lengthy illness.
Sirvivors include one son, Dennie O. Polk, Pensacola, Fla.; three brothers, 
Henry Smith, Rayville, J. W. Smith, Slidell and C. L. Smith, Winnsboro; one sister, 
Catherine Martin, Shreveport; seven grandchildren and 13 
great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Mark Ingram, Kenneth Ingram, J. W. Fortenberry, Lonnie Polk, 
Tony Ingram and James Dewey Polk.

Earl Temple
Funeral services for Earl Temple, 61, of Winnsboro were held at 2:30 p.m., 
Feb. 3 in the Chapel of Winnsboro First National Funeral Home.
Interment was in Providence Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Hardy Beauboeuf 
and the Rev. Joe Joyner officiating.
A native of Winnsboro, he was born July 23, 1923. He was employed by the 
U.S. Corps of Engineers. He died on Jan. 31, 1985, following a brief illness.
Survivors include his wife, Loree F. Temple, Winnsboro; two sons, Donald Roger 
Temple, Houston, Texas and Terry Earl Temple, Delta; two daughters, Mrs. 
Carolyn Miles, Winnsboro and Mrs. Brenda Merrill, Deer Park, Texas; four brothers, 
O. B. Temple and E. J. Temple, both of Winnsboro, Floyd Temple, Urania and 
Lloyd Temple, Slidell; one sister, Tennie Tumblin, Anchorage, Alaska; and seven grandchildren.

Fred Raliegh Williams

Funeral services for Fred Raliegh Williams, four-month-old son of 
Mrs. Asonya Kim Williams of Wisner, were held at 2 p.m., Sunday, 
Feb. 17, in the Chapel of Winnsboro Funeral Home.
Interment was in Ogden Cemetery, with the Rev. Bruce Cardin officiating.
He was born Sept. 21, 1984 in Monroe. He died on Feb. 16, 1985, following 
a brief illness.
Survivors other than his mother include his grandmother, Mrs. Maudell Rollins, 
Winnsboro; great-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Williams, Liddieville 
and great-grandmother, Mrs. Bessie Box, Rayville.

Funeral services for Arah C. Womack, 80, of Winnsboro, were 
held at 10 a.m., Feb. 4, in the Chapel of Winnsboro First 
National Funeral Home.
Interment was in Hurican (sic Hurricane) Grove Cemetery, Sikes 
with the Rev. Bill Robertson Jr., officiating.
A native of Sikes, she was born Dec. 27, 1904. She died on 
Feb. 2, 1985, following a lengthy illness.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Violet Robertson, Winnsboro 
and Mrs. Mavis O'Rourke, Shreveport; two brothers, Mac Crain, Columbia 
and J. R. Crain, Sikes; three sisters, Merle West, Oak Grove, 
Marjorie Lawrence, El Dorado, Ark., and Anne Ott, Shreveport; 
10 grandchidlren and 14 great-grandchildren.
