Interment was in Providence Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. David Terry officiating. A native of Harrisonburg, he was born Dec. 30, 1924. He was an iron worker for Summitt Construction, West Monroe, a member of Winnsboro Lodge No. 246 and Barrak Shrine Club. He died on March 14, 1985, following a brief illness. Survivors include his wife, Lona Pauline Easterling, Winnsboro; five daughters, Tommie Cox, Baton Rouge, Francine Smith, Sue Nivans, Gayle Easterling and Beth Easterling, all of Winnsboro; two step-sons, Jessie Mac Collins and Carey Lynn Collins, both of Springhill; four step-daughters, Judi Seratti Baker, Marion Ford, Ridgecrest, Lois Brown, Natchez and Joyce Smith, Winnsboro; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three sisters, Mrs. Velma Terry, Mrs. Vera Maga and Rachel Burgess, all of Monroe. Masons served as pallbearers. ******************************* The Franklin Sun Winnsboro, LA March 15, 1985 Submitted by: Glenda Warner Boyd Jeff Thomas Hawsey Funeral services for Jeff Thomas Hawsey, 77 of Winnsboro were held at 2 p.m., May 9, in the Chapel of Winnsboro First National Funeral Home. Interment was in Ogden Cemetery with the Rev. Bruce Cardin and the Rev. Paul Amstutz officiating. A native of Mississippi, he was a farmer. He was a member of Boeuf River Baptist Church. He was born May 16, 1907. He died on May 9, 1985. Survivors include his wife; Bessie Faulk Hawsey; two daughters, Erma Mae Ferguson and Nellie Lee Garcin, both of Winnsboro; three sisters, Bonita Thompson and Doris Hendry, both of Winnsboro and Mildred Nugent, El Dorado, Ark.; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Sam Delacerda, Billy Reeves, Bo Erskin, James Marion Erskin, Lloyd Warner and Roy Russell. Submitter's note: Jeff Thomas Hawsey was born in Winn Parish, LA to the union of Andrew Jackson Hawsey, Jr. and Pearl Adire Smith. He married Bessie Bell Faulk on March 20, 1927. He died May 8, 1985. He was preceded in death by infant son, Jeff Herman Hawsey, his parents; brothers, Talmage Vernon Hawsey, Charles R. Hawsey, and L. J. Interment was in Ogden Cemetery with the Rev. Virgil Harris officiating. A native of Winnsboro, she was self-employed as a store owner and operator. She died on March 25, 1985, following a lengthy illness. Survivors include her mother, Mrs. Anna H. Bruce, Winnsboro; one brother, William Fred Bruce, Valley Jose, Calif.; one son, Donnie Johnson, Winnsboro; one sister, Mrs. Elsie Barr, Leesville; and one grandchild, Donnie Johnson Jr. **********************************************************************
