Marvest Thompson Folds

Funeral services for Marvest Thompson Folds, 85, of Baskin, 
were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 16, in the 
Chapel of Winnsboro First National Funeral Home.
Interment was in Ogden Cemetery, with the Rev. Larry Hoffpauir 
and the Rev. Everette Johnson officiating.
A native of Sikes, he was born Feb. 22, 1901. He was a farmer. 
He died on Dec. 14, 1986, following a brief illness.
Survivors include one daughter, Oleta Hilbun, Baskin; one son, 
James Folds, Baskin; one brother, Dennis Folds, 
Alexandria; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Jamie Folds, Walter Hemphill, Henry Arender, 
Jackie Hilbun, Gerald Hilbun Jr., Landell McKeithen, J. Paul Folds and H. W. Folds.

William Clarence Riley

Funeral services for William Clarence Riley, 81, of Winnsboro, 
were held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 21. in the 
Chapel of Winnsboro First National Funeal Home.
Interment was in Ogden Cemetery, with the Rev. Wayne Smith and 
the Rev. J. D. Sikes officiating.
A native of Winnfield, he was born April 14, 1905. He was a farmer,
a pipeline worker and owned and operated a cattle business. 
He died on Dec. 19, 1986, following a lengthy illness.
Survivors include one son, Larry Riley, Winnsboro; one daughter, 
Darlene Mercer, Winnsboro; one brother, 
Ermon Riley, Winnsboro; five sisters, Lola Faulk, Winnsboro, Jewell Farrar, 
Port Neches, Texas, Eunice Huhn, Port Arthur, Texas, Vernice Colquette, 
Crossett, Ark., and Desta Burns, Shreveport; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Pallbearers were George Faulk, Ray Thomas, J. D. Fowler, Sammy Gilbert, 
Grady Hood and Coy Winters.

J. W. Simons

Funeral services for J. W. Simons, 64, of Winnsboro were held at 
10 a.m., Dec. 18, in Boeuf River Baptist Church with the Rev. Bruce 
Cardin officiating.
Interment was in Ogden Cemetery, under the direction of Winnsboro 
First National Funeral Home.
A native of Sikes, he was born Nov. 23, 1922. He died on Dec. 15, 1986, 
following a brief illness.
Survivors include one daughter, Virginia Ann Scain, Arkansas; four brothers, Ernest V. Simons, 
Dallas, Texas, Jimmy R. Simons, Locknay, La., Frankie Simons, Winnfield, Wesley Nolan Simons, Sikes; 
one sister, Bennie E. Bean, New Orleans; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Howard Robinson Sr., Johnny Robinson, L. C. Robinson, 
Mark Robinson, Gary Robinson and Howard Robinson Jr.

Viola Cleo Troha

Funeral services for Viola Cleo Troha, 64, of Winnsboro, 
were held at 10 a.m., Dec. 27, in the Chapel of 
Winnsboro First National Funeral Home.
Interment was in Ogden Cemetery, with the Rev. Bobby Brown 
and the Rev. Fr. Daniel Corkery officiating.
A native of Winnsboro, she was born April 9, 1922. She was a 
retired cafeteria worker for Franklin Parish schools. She was 
a member of Lone Cedar Baptist Church. She died on Dec. 25, 1986.
Survivors include her husband, Johnnie Troha Sr., Winnsboro; one 
daughter, Bobbie T. Wood, Winnsboro; two sons, Chip Troha and Bill Troha, 
both of Winnsboro; three sisters, Seleta Tyler and Gladys Thornhill, both of Winnsboro 
and Ruth Grube, Delhi; one brother, Ed Ellerbe, Gilbert; and six grandchildren.
Nephews served as pallbearers.
