Interment was in Crowville Masonic Cemetery under the direction of Winnsboro First National Funeral Home. A native of Atlanta, La., he was born Sept. 14, 1914. He was a retired vocational agriculture teacher and served as a supervisor in the Manpower Development Training Program for the State Department of Education. He served as president of the Vocational Agriculture Teacher Assn. Among his awards were the distinguished service award in agricultural education and the honorary FFA State Farmer's Award. He was a member of Crowville Methodist Church. He died on Feb. 22, 1987, following a lengthy illness. He served as a captain in the 55th Field Ambulance Corps assigned to the British Army during World War I and was awarded a citation for meritorious service by the British government. He practiced medicine in Baton Rouge for over 50 years and was a member of the East Baton Rouge Medical Society and the American Medicine Association. He was born on Dec. 10, 1886 and died on Feb. 14, 1987.
