Interment was is Boeuf Prairie Methodist Church Cemetery near Fort Necessity, with the Rev. John Guyre officiating. She died on Feb. 23, 1988 following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Cook was a native and lifelong resident of Franklin Parish. She was the last surviving member of the King family, a pioneer family in Franklin. Her father was the late "Uncle Jim" King, who lived to be 112-years-old. In her early years, Mrs. Cook was a student at what was then known as Stanton College in Natchez, Miss. Survivors include two nephews, George Allen Price Sr., Winnsboro and Jimmy King of Houston, Texas; two nieces, Katherine McCain, Winnsboro and Mrs. John Sewell, Pineville. Pallbearers were George Allen Price Jr., Bill Price, Danny Price, John Sewell, Brinsfield King III and Ray Bryan. The family requests that memorials be made to the John A. Colvin endowment fund; NLU foundation; Northeast Louisiana University, Monroe or to the Boeuf Prairie Methodist Church. ---------------------------------------------------- The Franklin Sun Winnsboro, LA March 16, 1988 Submitted Feb. 2006 by: Glenda Warner Boyd Lillie Vernice Folds Funeral services for Lillie Vernice Folds, 63, of Winnsboro, were held at 2 p.m., Thursday, March 10, in the Chapel of Winnsboro First National Funeral Home. Interment was in Ogden Cemetery with the Rev. J. B. Collinsworth and the Rev. Eddie Rhymes officiating. A native of Winnfield, she was born Oct. 31, 1924. She worked as a bookkeeper. She died on March 8, 1988. Survivors inlcude her husband, J.P. "Pete" Folds, Winnsboro; one son, Don Folds, Shreveport; three brothers, Andy B. Collinsworth, Houston, Texas, Joseph Burgas Collinsworth, Downsville and Ed Collinswoth, West Monroe; one sister, Opal Holstead, West Monroe; two grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. Fred J. Foster and the Rev. Floyd Hawthorne officiating. Interment was in Providence Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Winnsboro First National Funeral Home. A native of Franklin Parish, he was a retired oil field worker and retired from K-Mart. He died on March 24, 1988. Survivors include his wife, Neita L. Hawthorne, West Monroe; four sons, Kenneth Hawthorne and Naron Hawthorne, both of Harrisonburg, Sam Hawthorne, Liddieville and Jake Hawthorne, West Monroe; two daughters, Linda Brantley, Hale and Louise Grant, Minden; two brothers, the Rev. Interment was in Ogden Cemetery, Liddieville, with the Rev. Richard Lisk, the Rev. Marion Collier, the Rev. Paul Amstutz and the Rev. Sam Tinsley officiating. A native of Jackson Parish, she was a member of the Free Methodist Church of Liddieville. She died on March 7, 1988, following a lengthy illness. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-laws, Sue and Tony Butler, Vidalia and Tena and Duane Pierce, Jackson, Miss.; three grandchildren, Michael Keith Peel and Terri Peel Dykstra, both of Jackson, Miss., and Amanda Lea Butler, Vidalia; one great-grandchild, Gavin; five brothers, Arnold Hilbun, San Antonio, Gordon Hilbun, Baskin, Curtis Hilbun, Wisner, Mayo Hilbun, Rayville and Gerald "Bud" Hilbun, Baskin; and a number of nieces and nephews.
