Bruce Cardin officiating. A native of Winn Parish, he was born May 3, 1897. He was a postmaster and a veteran of World War I. He was a member of Boeuf River Baptist Church. He died on May 19, 1988, following a brief illness. Survivors include his wife, Elsie Bennett Dark, Winnsboro; one daughter, Wanda D. Madden, Ruston; three sisters, Mrs. Bobbye McGraw, Shreveport, Mrs. Willie Ferguson, Ferriday and Mrs. Audie Knight, San Diego, Calif.; two grandchildren, Monica L. Madden and Will L. Madden III and a host of nieces and nephews. Honorary pallbearers were J. C. Bennett, C. D. Bennett, Will Madden, Jr., Charlie Ray Jennings. ------------------------------------------------------------ The Franklin Sun Winnsboro, LA May 25, 1988 Submitted October 2009 by: Glenda Warner Boyd Elisha Monroe Drane Funeral services for Elisha Monroe Drane, 60, were held on Sunday, May 22, in South Central Baptist Church, with the Rev. Larry Eubanks officiating. Interment was in South Central Cemetery under the direction of Winnsboro First National Funeral Home. A native of Plantersville, Texas, she was born Nov. 18, 1927. She was a hairdresser. She died on May 19, 1988. Survivors include six sisters, Lorraine Ensminger, Wisner, Faye Smith, Baton Rouge, Ethel Drane, Port Allen, Peggy Kenney, Ferriday, Jennie Thornhill, Fair Hope, Ala., and Littie Belle Brozette, Pineville; one brother, Travis Drane, Clinton; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was a retired iron worker and a member of South Central Baptist Church. He died on May 20, 1988, following a brief illness. Survivors include his wife, Maggie McKee Stephens, West Monroe; four sons, Kenneth Stephens, Houston, Texas, Robert S. Stephens, Chattanooga, Tenn., and Pat Stephens and Roy Reginal Stephens, both of Wisner; three daughters, Linda S. McGuffie and Karen Sue Stephens, both of West Monroe and Marilyn Smith, Monroe; one sister, Hazel S.
