Eddie Wayne Rhymes officiating. Burial was in Ogden Cemetery under the direction of Winnsboro First National Funeral Home. Mrs. Hemphill died Saturday at King's Guest Home in Winnsboro. A housewife, Mrs. Hemphill was born in Lincoln County, Miss. She is survived by two daughters, Hedy Vega, Chalmette, and Emma Lou Rhymes, Winnsboro. Pallbearers were W. H. Sanders Jr., Claude Butler Jr., Leo Thornhill Jr., Jerry Jones, Allen Ray and Joe C. Nichols Jr. *********************************** The Franklin Sun Winnsboro, La. Johnston, 82, of Monroe, were held on Saturday, July 9, in the Chapel of Winnsboro First National Home. Interment was in Providence Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Ralph Thomas officiating. A native of Winnfield, she was born Dec. 22, 1906. She was a housewife. She died on July 8, 1988, following a brief illness. Survivors include three sons, Harvey Johnston and Buddy Johnston, both of Monroe and Charles Johnston, Winnsboro; three daughters, Margie Wilson, Shreveport, Charlene Benoit, Monroe, and Lorraine Verdin, New Orleans; one sister, Ola Riley, Winnsboro; 20 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Interment was in Ogden Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home of Winnsboro. She was a member of Sardis Baptist Church and a member of the Eastern Star. She died on July 22, 1988, following a brief illness. Survivors include her husband, Charles Simons, Winnsboro; one daughter, Kathy Weston, Rayville; one son, Kenny Simons, Winnsboro; one sister, Edna Faye Loflin, Winnsboro; one brother, W.F. Williams Jr., Amelia; one grandchild, Amy Weston; and a number of nieces and nephews.
