Bruce Cardin officiating. Burial followed in the Ogden Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home. Mr. Carter died Aug. 1, 1988 at his residence following a brief illness. Mr. Carter was a businessman and farmer, a disabled World War II veteran and a member of the Baptist church. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Willie Winn Carter, Mangham, a brother, John Williams, Liddieville, and 15 nieces and nephews. ******************************** The Franklin Sun Winnsboro, LA August 10, 1988 Submitted Feb. 2006 by: Glenda Warner Boyd Hansford Herbert Loflin Funeral services for Hansford Herbert Loflin, 79, of Winnsboro, were held on Friday, Aug. 5, in the Chapel of Winnsboro First National Funeral Home. Masonic rites were held at the gravesite. Interment was in Ogden Cemetery with the Rev. Leonard Hue officiating. A native of Eros, he was born May 19, 1907 (sic) 1909. He was a seismograph surveyor. He was a member of New Hope Lodge No. 328, F&AM. Survivors include his wife, Ruby Iverson Loflin, Winnsboro; one son, George William Loflin, New Iberia; six brothers, Bud Loflin and Mike Loflin, both of Winnsboro, Colonel Loflin, Willits, Calif., James Arthur Loflin, Jackson, Miss., Dave Loflin, Temple City, Calif., and Bill Loflin, Tallulah; three sisters, Evis West and Duane Smith, both of Monroe and Lovie Boutwell, Houston, Texas; and three grandchildren. Pallbearers were Bo Erskin, James Marion Erskin, Pat Loflin, Bobby Ray West, Bill Loflin and Danny Boutwell. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
