Womack ************************************************** The Franklin Sun Winnsboro, LA September 7, 1988 Submitted May 2009 by: Glenda Warner Boyd Mandy Elizabeth Collins Funeral services for Mandy Elizabeth Collins, 85, of Winnsboro, were held on Tuesday, Sept. 6, in the Chapel of Winnsboro First National Funeral Home. Interment was in Providence Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Francis Williams officiating. A native of Sikes, she was born Nov. 16, 1902. She was a housewife. She died on Sept. 5, 1988, following a brief illness. Survivors include her husband, Jewell L. Collins, Winnsboro; one daughter, Francis Collins, Lafayette; four sons, Benton Collins, Crowville, Jim Collins, Knoxville, Tenn., James Edward Reems, Winnsboro and Acie Reems, Rayville; two brothers, Otis Thornton, Gilbert and John Thornton, Ferriday; one sister, Allie Beach, El Dorado, Ark.; 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Mike Collins, Randy Collins, Jeff Collins, Ricky Oliver, Dennis Oliver, and S. C. Carson Jr. ----------------------------------------------------- The Franklin Sun Winnsboro, LA September 7, 1988 Submitted Feb. 2006 by: Glenda Warner Boyd Marvin "Woody" Hammett Funeral services for Marvin "Woody" Hammett, 72, of Vidalia, were held on Thursday, Sept. 1, at Young's Funeral Home Chapel in Ferriday. Interment was in Ogden Cemetery, Liddieville, with the Rev. Tommie Guthrie and the Rev. Marty Wright officiating. A native of Liddieville, he was born Nov. 14, 1915. He was a resident of Vidalia for the past 29 years. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and was retired from Armstrong Tire and Rubber. He died on Aug. 31, 1988, following a lengthy illness. Survivors include his wife, Bessie D. Hammett, Vidalia; two sons, Ronnie R. Hawthorne, Phoenix, Ariz., and Bertual Hawthorne, Vidalia; one daughter, Patsy H. Dayton, Jonesville; three sisters, Nila Mae Quaid, Hodge, Fannie Bell Heath, Baton Rouge and Ilah Johnson, Winnsboro; and six grandchildren. Pallbearers were Billy Ray Havard, Marion Freeman, Coot Swiley, Otis Vines, L. T. Frances Williams and the Rev. John Williams officiating. A native of Winn Parish, she was born Feb. 14, 1906. She was a housewife and a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. She died on Sept. 21, 1988. Survivors include three daughters, Evolene Chapman, Winnsboro, Lynette Billiot, Monroe, Bobbie Steiner, Temple Terrace, Fla.; two sons, Curtis "Jack" Womack, Iowa Park, Texas and Marvin Womack, Crowville; three sisters, Pauline Riser, Winnsboro, Mary Henry, West Monroe, Arzell Head, Start; two brothers, Malvin Antley, West Monroe and William "Buddy" Antley, Bossier City; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.
