Graveside services for the infant of Jackie Brown, of Clayton, were held on 
Nov. 2, 1988 at 12 noon, at New Light Cemetery of Clayton, under the direction 
of Richardson and Sims Funeral Home of Winnsboro.
 
The infant was stillborn on Nov. 1, 1988.
 
Survivors include the baby's mother, Jackie Brown of Clayton and grandparents, 
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Brown, Clayton.

Jennifer Kay Jemerson Hughes
 
Graveside services for Jennifer Kay Jemerson Hughes, 26, of Winnsboro, were held on 
Saturday, Oct. 29, at Ogden Cemetery, with the Rev. Ray McMurray officiating.
 
Interment was under the direction of Winnsboro First National Funeral Home.
 
A native of Monroe, she was born June 22, 1962. She was a housewife. She died on Oct. 27, 
1988.
 
Survivors include her husband, Mark D. Hughes, Winnsboro; one daughter, Shonnie Lynn 
Hughes, Winnsboro; two sons, Lonnie Allen Hughes and Christopher Delane Hughes, both of 
Winnsboro; her father, Delton C. Jemerson, West Monroe; her mother, Carolyn Davis, 
Winnsboro; her step-father, Hollis Davis, Winnsboro; one sister, Sheila Hatton, Grayson; 
five brothers, Eldridge C. Jemerson, Hebert, Allen Dale Jemerson and Charles Avery 
Jemerson, both of Delhi and Richard LaShea Jemerson and Johnny Jemerson, both of Winnsboro.
 
Pallbearers were Steve Combest, Jimbo Combest, Jack Davis, Jeff Hughes, Tony Hatton and 
Ronnie Hatton.

Ola Gertrude Riley
 
Funeral services for Ola Gertrude Riley, 78, of Winnsboro, were 
held on Tuesday, Nov. 8, in the Chapel of Winnsboro First National 
Funeral Home.
 
Interment was in Providence Memorial Cemetery, with the Rev. Leonard 
Hawks and the Rev. Jack Mulkey officiating.
 
She was a lifelong resident of Franklin Parish. She was born Oct. 10, 1910. 
She was a housewife. She died on Nov. 7, 1988, following a brief illness.
 
Survivors include her husband, Ermon Riley, Winnsboro; one foster-son, 
Charles Ray Johnston, Winnsboro; five foster-daughters, Margie Fay Johnston 
Wilson and Desta Burns, both of Shreveport, Eunice Huhn, Port Arthur, Texas, 
Jewell Furrell, Port Neches, Texas and Vernice Crockett, Crossett, Ark.
 
Pallbearers were Billy Bass, Boyd White, Max Bass, Ralph Bass, Bob Burrows, 
Mitchell Buxton, Ray LaPrairie, and Charles Phillips.

Harrell Lane Sisson

 
NATCHITOCHES   -
Funeral services for Harrell Lane Sisson, 76, Natchitoches, were held Nov. 4 at 
Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Curtis Dickens and the 
Rev. Bradley Creed officiating jointly.
 
Burial followed in Memory Lawn Cemetery in Natchitoches.
 
Mr. Sisson died Wednesday in a Natchitoches hospital following a lingering illness.  
 
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Edith Robinson Sisson, Natchitoches; two sons, 
Lane Sisson, Shreveport, and Russell Sisson, Campti; one daughter, Mrs. Nelda S. 
Carroll, San Jose, Calif.; one brother George William Sisson, Macomb, Ill., 
and four grand daughters.
 
Mr. Sisson, a native of Crowville was a retired regional director for the 
United States Dept. of Agriculture and was a veteran of World War II.

Thomas Smith
 
Funeral services for Thomas Smith, 59, of Delhi are incomplete under the direction 
of Winnsboro First National Funeral Home.
 
Mr. Smith died on Monday, Nov. 7, 1988.

Marie Bernice Ward
 
Funeral services for Marie Bernice Ward, 71, of Winnsboro, were held 
at 2 p.m., Monday, March 7, in the Chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home of 
Winnsboro.
 
Interment was in Ogden Cemetery with the Rev. Marty Wright officiating.
 
A native and lifelong resident of Franklin Parish, she was a retired 
housewife and a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church. She died on 
Sunday, March 6, 1988, following a lengthy illness.
 
Survivors include two daughters, Sherry Ward Spencer, Hamburg, Ark., 
and Patsy Jean Ward, Winnsboro; one brother, L. V. Wright, Springhill; 
one sister, Mae Cloice Smith, Natchez, Miss.; one granddaughter, 
Angela Matthews, Hamburg, Ark.
 
Pallbearers were James Glen Smith, Leo Edward Smith, Eugene Paola, 
Fay Cowart, Rodney Ramsey and Marlon Ramsey.
