Larry Eubanks and the Rev. Jack Harr officiating. Interment was in South Cental Cemetery near Wisner under the direction of Winnsboro First National Funeral Home. A lifelong resident of Wisner, he was janitor at Wisner High School and former member of the Franklin Parish Police Jury. He was a member of South Central Baptist Church. He died on Saturday, Dec. 31, 1988. Survivors include his wife, Tiney Mae Allbritton, Wisner; one son, Frank Allbritton Jr., Wisner; one daughter, Sheila Bradley, Winnsboro; his mother, Celia Allbritton, Wisner; three brothers, Archie Allbritton Jr., Jesse Allbritton and Henry Allbritton, all of Wisner; three sisters, Betty Parker and Irene Lee, both of Wisner; and Mary Haring, Fayette, Miss.; and four grandchildren. Interment was in New Winnsboro Cemetery, with the Rev. Debra Shevlin-Lee officiating. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Winnsboro and worked for Northeast Louisiana Power Cooperative for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Baur. She died on Monday, Jan. 9, 1989. Survivors include one daughter, Norma Jean Chownes, Red River, N.M,; one son, Buster Crowley, Winnsboro; one sister, Bessie Blackwell, Seminary, Miss.; and one brother, Sam Hinton Jones, Jackson, Miss. Interment was in Providence Memorial Cemetery near Winnsboro under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home of Winnsboro. A native of New Orleans and a long-time resident of Winnsboro, she was a 1936 graduate of Hotel Dieu School of Nursing and a member of the Ouachita Parish Medical Auxiliary. She was a member of the Louisiana Nurses Association, a charter member of the Auxillary of Louisiana Academy of general practice, an advisory member of the Louisiana Beautification Council, was the establisher of the Winnsboro Garden Club's Garden Therapy Program with special education classes at Winnsboro Elementary School. The "Garden Club on the Air" program was established over KMAR radio in Winnsboro through her efforts. She was a chairwoman of Winnsboro "Clean-up, Paint-up and Fix-up Week", chair woman of Winnsboro Beautification Association, member of the Franklin Parish Development Board, was active in the landscape work for the courthouse, post office and St. Mary's Catholic Church. She was the organizer of pilio (sic polio) immunization clinics in Franklin Parish. She served as president of the Louisiana State Garden Club Federation from 1969-71, held offices of first vice president and third vice president of the organization and was a past State Garden Club Therapy chairwoman. She served on various committees of the organization. She was a state life member of the Garden Club Therapy Federation. She was the author of various published articles and was presented a plaque in 1963 by the Winnsboro Civitan Club for her work in the polio immunization project. She was active in the American Red Cross and was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Samuel Carriere and son Samuel Carriere IV. She died on Tuesday, Jan. 10, 1989 following a lengthy illness. Survivors include one son, Edward W. Carriere, Shreveport; nine grandchildren, Samuel Carriere V, Clayton Joseph Carriere, Richard Darcey Carriere, Mrs. Randall Tomeny, Mrs. Mark Shanove, all of New Orleans and Edward William Carriere Jr., Anthony John Carriere, Domenica Cecile Carriere and Mary Esther Carriere, all of Shreveport; and one great-grandchild. Pallbearers were Clayton Joseph Carriere, Richard Darcey Carriere, Randall Gerard Tomeny, Mark Kevin Chanove, Edward William Carriere Jr., Anthony John Carriere, Samuel Carriere V, and Thurman Dickey.
