Hatton Sr. Funeral services for J. J. Hatton Sr., 71, of Monticello, La., were held on Tuesday, Jan. 31, in the Chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home of Winnsboro. Interment was in Ogden Cemetery, with the Rev. Woodson McGuffee and the Rev. Don Bonner officiaiting. He died Saturday, Jan. 28, 1989, following a brief illness. Survivors include his wife, Carol C. Hatton, Monticello; two daughters, Linda Nelson, Shreveport and Peggy Eko, Centralia, Wash.; two sons, J. J. Hatton Jr. and Terry Hatton, both of Liddieville; one brother, W. A. Hatton, Liddieville; one sister, Birdie Hatton, Winnsboro; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Pallbearers were Van Yeager Wooldridge, Bonner Wooldridge, John Howell, Ronnie Hatton, Bobby Dickens, and Robert Wiggins. *********************************************** The Franklin Sun Winnsboro, LA February 15, 1989 Submitted Jan. 2006 by: Glenda Warner Boyd William Robert Sikes Funeral services for William Robert Sikes, 91, of Crowville, were held on Sunday, Feb. 12, in the Chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home of Winnsboro. Interment was in Crowville Masonic Cemetery with the Rev. James Bonner officiating. He was a member of Crockett Point Baptist Church and was preceded in death by his wife, Lela Mae Sikes and a son, W. L. Sikes. He died on Feb. 10, 1989, following a lengthy illness. Survivors include one daughter, Orelle Atkins, Crowville; two sisters, Ethleen Curry, Winnsboro and Ottice Stephenson, Baskin; one brother, O. T. Sikes, Baskin; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Ricky Lockridge, Gary Chapman, Larry Cox, James Mercer, Terry Lightsey and Artie Carter. ****************************************************** The Franklin Sun Winnsboro, LA February 8, 1989 Submitted March 2006 by: Glenda Warner Boyd Martha Jordan Thornton Funeral services for Mrs. Martha Jordan Thornton, 81, Winnsboro, were held Feb. 6, 1989 at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel of Winnsboro First National Funeral Home with the Rev. Bobby Brown officiating. Burial followed in the Ogden Cemetery near Liddieville under the direction of First National Funeral Home. Mrs. Thornton died Feb. 5, 1989 at her residence near Winnsboro. Survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Alice Walker, Mrs. Geraldine Polk and Mrs. Doris Grayson Jordan, all of Winnsboro, and a number of nieces and nephews.
